You're making a huge assumption that there are a ton of outtakes in the vault they could of used instead. Between this set and the 2004 set, the barrel my be scraped clean.

Absolutely. And Lindsey recorded so much versions of his songs because that is the way he writes them. Recording. I LOVE the fact that we get insight in all those renditions. And I also understand that it is not for everybody. Bad luck. I'm happy.

I feel the same BigAl. That's what motivated me to purchase the full package.

Sara, for instance, the only unreleased version of Sara in the deluxe package is the live track we got a month ago.
and not really a lot of Angels. Nothing at all on the last Tusk package, though there were versions of all her other songs. I would love to hear her songwriting demo of it that she brought to the band.

Default Question about purchasing Tusk reissue

Does anyone know of any retailers where you can order the physical, deluxe version of the Tusk reissue, that will also allow you to download a digital version of the songs without having to pay for the digital-only version? Warner Brothers did this with 24 Karat Gold...if you bought the physical copy, you could download all the songs the day it was released.

I ask because I would like to physical copy for the LPs, the art, and the discs to listen to in my car (yes, still old school). However, my laptop is newer and does not have a disc drive, leaving me no way to put the songs on my computer or iPhone...and I certainly don't want to pay for both the deluxe version and the digital version.

Thanks!

I purchased the physical copy at Amazon, and all the songs are available to listen to and download from my Amazon account today.
Someone mentioned in another thread that they live in the US but ordered from Amazon UK and don't have access to the digital copy, so you would need to make sure you ordered through Amazon US. It should say "includes free MP3 version of this album"
I hope this helps.

Just started working my way through some of the songs this morning, there's certainly enough of them....drowning in the sea of Tusk
Very happy with a version of Beautiful Child, and live Sisters of the Moon.

Does it include the lyrics of Cecilia at the ending?

Possibly....I can't actually make out what she is saying at the end. It could be lyrics from Cecilia, but I don't know them well enough of the top of my head. Maybe someone else can confirm this, or I'll maybe I'll work out what she's saying after a few more listens.

Usually it is something like this:

where are the wild/white birds flown?
have they gone/flown so very far?
no, they're just asleep
therein

Thanks! This is exactly what I was hoping. I didn't see it explicitly stated on Amazon, but thought maybe it's just becoming standard anymore.

I just checked US Amazon and it doesn't say "free mp3 version" like the UK site, so I'm not sure you would get the digital copy as well. It's seems a bit strange if the sites are offering different things . Maybe you could check with Amazon before buying it.

The box set just arrived in the post. It's beautifully packaged.
This was a Christmas present from my family, I'm not sure I'd have wanted to spend £45 but I probably would have done anyway.
It's very nice to have, and a lovely Christmas present

edit....The notes look interesting. There's "The Background to Tusk" by Jim Irvin - an article about the making of Tusk, that looks to include old quotes along with some new ones. An article from The New York Times - Feb 18th 2015, and "Tusk Track-by-Track" with Lindsey, Stevie and Mick talking about individual tracks - no Christine or John.
