Default Lyricist and songwriter

If Stevie is still writing her poetry....and I believe she is.
Why doesn’t she get together with a songwriter who understands her, and create some new songs?

Like “My Mother’s rings”.
I think she’s capable of writing a lyric but not the melody.

Who would be a songwriter to team up with Stevie and get some new music out?

Too busy chasing checks! Haim could be a good partner for her.

I would say Mike Campbell and Stevie Nicks have a great songwriting relationship, because there is little pressure for Stevie to come up with a melody. She just needs to retrofit her poems into his tracks. As much as Stevie claimed that her work with Dave Stewart was the most satisfying of her career (I doubt it really was), her working relationship with Campbell has stood the test of time and she never ever has anything negative to say about it, or vice versa. With Tom gone now, I have no doubt that Stevie could have first dibs on any music that Campbell writes, if she wanted it. But touring is so lucrative, I don't know why she would go through the effort to make an album that will only sell 20k copies or so.

Haim are too cool for Stevie
Not to mention their writing style is quite different though their last album had some early 80s Mac vibes.

Dave was probably the best collaborator for her in terms of working experience but he’s FAR from it in terms of actual product. That would be Lindsey and Jimmy Iovine. Too bad Jimmy never wanted to work with her again after Wild Heart.

I thought Jimmy Iovine was one of the producers of Rock a Little?

He was at first but then he quit because she’d become difficult to deal with/she fired him over the Don’t Come Around Here No More thing (not sure which came first) and they never worked together after. They became friends again later but he was her best solo producer by a mile if you ask me so it’s a shame. I think her later solo albums might’ve not been what they were had he still been involved.

Did Jimmy produce Reconsider Me? That's such a fantastic vocal.

There's a story about him and that song in the Enchanted liner notes. According to Wikipedia at least, the production credit is shared with Stevie, Jimmy Iovine and Andrew Slater. I don't have my boxed set in a place where I can readily open and see if it lists production credits.

Yes! He’s credited as producer. I’ve always thought his productions really highligted her voice so well. Didn’t let it get buried under too many sounds like her later music did.
