The acoustic-driven "Without You" is a real treat, as it is a Steve Nicks love song from the Buckingham-Nicks (pre-Mac) days.

The Mac Attack returns! A seemingly ageless Stevie Nicks and explosive Lindsey Buckingham led the charge at Rosemont’s Allstate Arena on June 14. In the middle of a massive juggernaut that will bring Fleetwood Mac around the globe to promote their Extended Play EP, the band played with a lightness in their step and a thorn in their hearts. Sorry everyone. I'm going to get my review up soon. I went on vacation 2 days after the concert so I've been preoccupied with packing and getting enough sleep. I haven't forgotten!

In the meantime, here's my partial clip of "Second Hand News" from this show!

My apologies for getting this review out so late. I went on vacation the Sunday after this concert happened and spent the day after the concert packing and doing other things. I hope you enjoy though!

My first Fleetwood Mac concert and it was a blast! I’m surprised I got any sleep the night before but I did. I left about 2 hours before the show because I was worried about traffic. We listened to The Dance CD on the way there to set the mood. My mom and I ended up getting there around 7pm and they hadn’t opened the doors yet to the stadium so we ended up waiting in a long line outside. There were multiple lines snaking out of the stadium, depending on where you parked. I was wearing jeans with wedge heels and a lace shirt. I’m only 5’1” and I knew that if I didn’t wear heels I would not be able to see anything. It was also windy while we were standing there so I was freezing most of the time.

Finally, the line started moving and here was the part I had been nervous about: whether or not my camera was going to be confiscated. Got my ticket scanned and went through the turnstile; there was a cop standing next to the ticket taker and I almost got by him with my bag, but he did stop me. I opened my bag and he looked in and felt the bottom of it, but that was it! I had hidden my camera in the inside zipper pocket and just to make sure, I put a sanitary pad on top to deter him from looking further, and also in the main compartment as well! Was super happy about that since I hadn’t been to a concert in a while and did not know the consistency with which security is about cameras.

Let me just say though, that the ushers at Allstate were super polite and helpful in finding our seats for us. I had never sat on the floor level for a concert so my mom and I had no idea where to even go at first but luckily the ushers helped us.

After we found our seats we went to the merchandise stand, of which I found out there were quite a few of them set up around the arena! The first one I stopped at was smaller and had some posters as well as jewelry and iPad cases. I did not see the other cell phone cases as someone else had reported although I would have bought one. I ended up buying the small personalized poster with the city name on it to commemorate when I went. I do wish I had bought the lanyard; those seemed really nice and would have liked to put my ticket in there if I could find the plastic casing for it.
We then found our way back to our seats and I made sure to tell my mom that the Mac never come out exactly at 8pm as many of you here on The Ledge have noted. I also made sure to go on here via my phone for a little bit and to see if there was any additional chatter about this show. I did see that “HelloMonster” also attended this show and was happy to know there was a fellow Ledgie in attendance.

I had contemplated going up to the stage, but I felt bad about leaving my mom in her seat so I didn’t. The only real reason I would have gone up there would have been to see LB and get to touch his guitar and just bask in his awesomeness.

There were also some interesting people sitting behind me and in front of me. The guy behind me kept talking throughout the show (although I never heard much of it), and there was a pre-teen girl directly to my right who kept waving her arms around every time a Rumours song was played. All the other times she looked kind of bored. I also saw a drunk Stevieite (not sure if she was) turn around and ask the other drunk people behind her if she could have another bong hit. The person then offered her a long black illuminated pipe of which she took a hit and I saw smoke. Are these things electronic now?

Show started exactly at 8:20 and I wish I could remember every nuance of it. I do remember after The Chain, that Stevie said something about being in Chicago again which she loved and loved coming back here. I was surprised she didn’t mention something about the Blackhawks.

Sad Angel was wonderful although I wish I had taken more video of the video screen than LB on the stage since I had heads in my way. Was so excited to see his solo on that and the pogo-ing!!

I so wish that someone had videoed the speech Lindsey gave when introducing the Tusk set because there was a girl in the front row who was really enthusiastic about it and he said something along the lines of “1987…..*points to girl in front row* “way before you were even born….” And then something like “Oh!” when he realized she was born in 1989. I was standing there watching that and thinking “girl, I was born in ’86, can I have your tickets please!!” It also looked like Lindsey made some pelvic thrust movements when he introduced Tusk and got the reaction, and I wish there was video of that too.

I remember giving hints to my mom about what songs were to come since I had been spoiled so much by YouTube and the Ledge…..she loved Big Love and NGBA….and I was happy to see that the hand slapping thing he does before Big Love was at this show.

Definite highlight was the “Without You” intro. My god was that funny and it’s evolved even more but I’m proud to say that this version started here! I loved Stevie’s “I’m starting to sweat!” and Mick poking LB with his drumsticks.

But, I had been waiting patiently for ISA, because I knew LB was going to do what he always does during that song, make love to his guitar and I was waiting to see my mom’s reaction to it. It floored her as did I. This man is a genius and I cannot wait to see him on his solo tours!!

I was surprised that by the time Silver Springs rolled around that the concert was almost over. I was also surprised that that was the moment where it hit me that I was actually there. I do remember getting a little emotional during Landslide because everyone was singing along, but SS was the moment where I knew it was almost over.

Say Goodbye was wonderful too, I just wish people wouldn’t scream “I love you Stevie!!” during that song. They’re having their moment and I know they’ve done it a billion times, but for a person like me who’s never seen them in concert, it just irks me the wrong way.

Overall, the concert was wonderful and I would do it all again in a heartbeat if I could. A couple of days after it was over, I was contemplating going to another show but I knew that I’d never be able to afford it anyway. There’s always LB tours to look forward to!

That's a wonderful review and worth the wait. I know how you had an idea of what was coming and could wait to see your mother's reaction to it. Good to know that ISA did not disappoint.

Interesting that Lindsey's now doing birthdates for his 1987 mention.

Given your username, it's only fitting that you wish you had an unobstructed recording of Sad Angel .

I do hope someone else did tape it because it really was so much fun and I'd love to have the entire show.
Oh I wish someone had recorded the intro to the Tusk set too! I loved what LB did when the crowd went wild! I'm also really sad that no torrent has surfaced (audio and/or video). I really, really wanted a copy of this concert to look back on because it was so good, and was hoping one would surface because I've seen them for past tours in '09 and '03.

I did however make a playlist of the videos I took as well as all the others I've found that related to this show (although I wish people would tag things correctly). The videos aren't all that great though and a lot of them are only partial songs (most of them from the Rumours album).
