Well, she could have said the boys did many things for her. That doesn't necessarily make them true.

She also said Mick had a dependency problem that made him have some trouble with the act and I don't have a hard time believing that at all and I don't think she would need to make anything up about any of the dozens of famous musicians she 'spent time with'. So I don't doubt any of it is true just as I don't doubt that Stevie had plenty of her own fun as well.

Can someone direct me to where Stevie says this song was inspired by Monica Lewinsky?
I always thought the song was about Stevie's relationship with Mick, how she refers to it now as all kinds of wrong, a secret affair that started out because of their lifestyle, etc. but at the same time she was super possessive of him and devastated when he moved on. That, or a torrid affair with Lindsey during The Dance. I interpreted the "she gets on a midnight plane, she's done it a thousand times" line as simply a reference to Stevie's lifestyle with her band mates, as in flying to the next tour stop after a show.
