It's gotta be "Hold Me." It's the most fun. I really like "Love In Store" as well. Then I would be hard-pressed to decide between "Only Over You" and "Wish You Were Here" in the third spot.
I often have sung through Mirage when I've needed to pass the time. |

I love them all as well, and while "Hold Me" is an obvious choice I gotta throw some love at "Only Over You".

Wish You Were Here has always been a dud for me.
Don't know why -- I guess it's sort of a buzz-kill for the album. |

"Only Over You" & "Wish You Were Here" are about equal to my ears - sometimes they blur, and more or less seem like the same song, or a continuation of the same. I would have rather seen one Christine ballad on "Mirage", and I'd definitely nominate "Wish You Were Here." Her whole "OOOOOut of my mind..." part on "Only Over You" honestly sometimes makes me cringe, akin to nails on a chalkboard. Needless to say, I rarely listen to these two songs. "Mirage" could have benefitted from another mid to uptempo song, her two ballads made "Mirage" a more sleepy affair. I don't see "Mirage" as a high point for Chris at all. It's my opinion she only brought one great song to the project. She had much better songs on her 84' solo record which were all co-written, or not written by her at all except for "The Smile I Live For." Last edited by Christopher; 02-26-2014 at 05:01 PM.. |

I adore all of Christine's Mirage songs. I love the harmonies on Love in Store along with her vocal and piano on Wish You Were Here.

"Hold Me" and "Love In Store" are pretty great. The other two don't quite excite me as much.
My only problem with "Hold Me" is that it really could have used another verse later in the song (too many repetitions of the chorus). I really wish more Mac songs had vocal harmonies/arrangements like "Love in Store," not to mention "Honey Hi" or the outtake studio cover of "The Farmer's Daughter" (where all three singers are essentially on lead to some degree). In earlier years (1975-77), when she actually was present for more studio sessions, I listen to songs like "Monday Morning" and struggle to hear whether Stevie is really in there somewhere. |

I agree with you. I love those Mac harmonies!

I think the new album will have much more harmonizing of three voices. As much as Say You Will to us diehard fans sounded like two solos albums, there was more harmonizing using those two vocals instead of Lindsey using his voice to replicate the Stevie and Christine's sound.

I love "hold me" it's my favorite Fleetwood Mac song. I do think they could have added a little bit to the verses to make the beginning part of the song two minutes instead of a minute and a half.
Only over you is the second best Christine song on Mirage. Then Love in Store. |

Never Take Your Love Away..........
I'm hoping for a track on the new disc that has the impact of this great chorus like on Love in Store.

"Wish You Were Here" has taken on a whole new meaning for me. I'm using it as one of the songs for my dad's Memorial service.

Oh. Hey. It started raining a little inside, right on my face. I've always thought it was an overlooked song.
