The absence of any news reports had me wondering. But then, half of the press uses Facebook as a source now anyway, so what are we to do?

The internet is volatile. Here's hoping it is just a rumour.

Tears of sadness turn to tears of joy turn to rage at the scum hacker. I thought it odd to make such a statement with a concert in progress, and when we know John is so private, but I fell for it.

I'm wondering if the news was broken prematurely and that is why it was taken down? im wondering if the "hacked" reasoning is to cover up "spilling the beans"? i dunno. i hope its not true, but that means there are some sick ****s out there....

It's a power thing. Look at the response, here and on Facebook, that was elicited. And just from knowing where to click and what keys to press. Power. And the joy of exercising it and showing off.

Wait so not true? I just saw this posted again within the last half hour on FB and my heart sank. So if it was deleted it looks reposted- although FB is being weird to me so... Still not seeing anything on google either.

I'm still flipped out. I just shared the story with my best friend who joined me at the Detroit show and has become a huge Mac fan since then had to say oh wait, I hear it's a hacker. Gotta say too that I wondered- wait, what about the show in Las Vegas and that seemed weird. (Trying desperately to find a way to get to Vegas because I need more Mac!) So... Anyone hear anymore? Like I said, looked as if it was reposted within the last 45mins unless Facebook is doing something weird for me. Kind of screwy to hope its a hacker but what a terrible, terrible thing to do. Flips out all of us fans and must be especially upsetting for anyone who with tickets to he Aussie and NZ shows.

I don't know. If they had cancelled it they'd surely want the word out ASAP? Shorter notice = more irate fans. They would at least retain a statement that the tour was cancelled, surely?

But then, they didn't make a post saying "please ignore the hack" either. I guess the lesson here is to take everything with a grain of salt and not reach conclusions until more information is presented.

I'll assume it's false until something more official comes along to say otherwise.

The original post on the official Fleetwood Mac Facebook page is gone. People are saying it was hacked. I hope its not true about John.
