Peter Green in the 80's
After watching the Peter Green playing guitar at the Rockplast in 1983 I was struck by one thing.:
He was able to play pretty well even though his fingernails on his fret hand were very long. They were not as long as in some pictures I have seen butting none the less. It was the cause, in my opinion, of what sounds and tones he was getting out of his guitars during the set. It seemed to flatten his attack on the strings causing a less forceful and tinny result. Any Thoughts? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cl5bBgOtpWc |

Quote:
either way i agree that his approach completely changed his sound. willful choices to put distance between present and the past? there was also the period where peter didn't bend strings or tried to avoid bends if possible zero |
