Contrary to the above post, I've managed to get them onto my computer and played both in iTunes. I was surprised WIH was an instrumental but I have to admit that I expected TPD to be dreamy and hippyish like Dragonfly.

Many thanks once again. Dare I ask if you've got Head Kicked In?

I think WIH is one of Mac's nicer instrumentals.. I heard that Danny wrote the main part and Peter contributed the solo. And funny you say that because when I bought the Dragonfly single (solely to hear TPD), I expected TPD to be a swirly, dreamy thing that could've fitted on "Future Games" but instead there's this "Kiln House" type affair with the two separate vocals. Interesting song though

And I do have Head Kicked In.. it might be a day or two, but I'll post it unless someone else does.

"Purple Dancer" is very much one of those "transitional" songs that would've fit on either Kiln House or Future Games. It kind of gave us a peek at where Fleetwood Mac was headed. And, actually, now that I think about it, was "Dragonfly", as well.

It's a hilarious Jeremy 50s pastiche - think "Punk Elvis".

It's available as a bonus track on the current release of The Original Fleetwood Mac compilation.

It was covered by a US punk band called The Revillos. I know nothing about this band other than they covered this song.

The Revillos were actually from the UK (Scotland, I believe), and included members of the Rezillos, one of the early UK punk bands.

Well, I said I knew nothing about them.

Thanks for pointing that out!

My first time doing something like this...so here's hoping it works.

(If it doesn't, then we are both S.O.L. and it's back to the drawing board.)

I loved this song! Do more Jeremy/Elvis impersonation songs exist? Would someone be so kind to name them and tell me how to find them?

I am reading the Leah Furman book on FM and she refers to Jeremy's impersonations of Elvis and ? (a name that escapes me right now.)

There are a few where he does a great Elvis, especially some of the live sets like the Madison Blues 2CD box. There's also a fun version of "Don't Be Cruel" on Show-Biz Blues

He also did Buddy Holly songs, and stuff by Fabian - "Tiger" is on one of the Live in Boston CDs, I believe that's a Fabian song. Maybe Jeremy could post here and tell us what else he remembers doing on the Elvis front!

Not necessarily Elvis, but certainly some great loving rock'n'roll pastiches.

There's Mighty Cold which is on the current Original Fleetwood Mac CD, and You Made A Hit from the Jeremy Spencer album, and was also one of the two JS album tracks on the CD that came with Mick's photo book (both incorrectly credited as unreleased FM tracks).

There'll be plenty of others that more experienced folk know about like the ones bretonbanquet mention.
