Does anyone know if "Fireflies" from the live album is a cover song? I can't find it anywhere. Or am I just being lame and missing something?

Just the live album has it. As far as I know....Only place I've ever seen it.

It is rather pretty IMO. It also shows LB and FM's slammin production skills.

Wow that piano demo is wonderful...wish it was the full version....I've not ever ever heard it before. Of all the demos/outtakes /alternates that I have...that for sure isn't one of them.....wow......incredible.....I love Stevie's voice than......great...thanks for sharing!!

It's gorgeous. I never heard this before. As you say, apart from the incredible depth and beauty of this fragment, it's quite amazing and impressive that Lindsey and the band arranged the midtempo rocker out of it as it came out......

I would not consider the first one to be a demo. It's actually the band rehearsing, and working to hammer out the song to get a decent performance. What's so amusing is that this is Stevie's song, yet she doesn't seem to be familiar with it and gets completely lost. It goes without saying that her vocals are horrid here, but this must be an early run through. Suffice to say a lot of post-production was done on the final product as it appears of the Live album.

I'm hearing parts at the end of this that may have been used in the final recording. The vocals are pretty exact, even how she's singing the lines. I remember thinking this years ago when I heard these alternate versions. Basically, from 3:48 on sounds like the vocal on the album. The only difference is that in the album version she goes from "of our love affair" to "like a whip through the air" which is missing from this version. So, it sounds to me like they've taken sections here and there and kinda pieced it together. You know this band likes to do things like that!

And yes, her vocal (although I wouldn't call it dreadful), does sound like she was in the middle of doing her taxes or eating french toast when they whisked her away to do a vocal.
