Question Changing of the guard...

Okee, was bored at work today, as usual...came up with this..

Which member(s) of FM would you want to "cover" another member of FM and which song?

I'd love to hear Lindsey doing "Coming Your Way" by Danny. That song ROCKS!! "Child of Mine" would be great too!!

Christine doing The Green Manalishi!! LMAO!! WOOOO!!

Stevie doing Little Lies perhaps...since her's and LB's bgv's kick BOOT-AY!!

I'd love to hear how Danny would have sounded singing "Man of the World"...I prefer his voice over Peter's.

So, whaddayathink?

Lindsey & Stevie doing "Winds Of Change" from the "Time" album.

Billy Burnette doing Jeremy's "Someone's Gonna Get Their Head Kicked In Tonight", "Buddy's Song", "Blood On The Floor"

Rick Vito doing MORE Peter Green tunes...any of 'em!

Lindsey doing Danny's "Dust" or "Woman Of A Thousand Years"
(as was already mentioned...in the same vein as Rick doing ANY Peter Green tune, Lindsey is WELL suited to cover ANY Danny Kirwan tune.)

Bob Welch doing "The Chain", Christine's "Mystified", Billy's "In The Back Of My Mind"

Bekka Bramlett doing Christine's "Get Like You Used To Be"

Jeremy doing Rick & Billy's "When The Sun Goes Down"

Actually, what I think would be really cool is to get Mick, John, Lindsey, Rick & Billy to do a tribute to the almost original lineup...Lindsey "playing" Danny, Rick as "Peter" and Billy as "Jeremy".

You mean COMPLETE? with the "ya stupid bleedin' c----!" part (and all that is said after the fade that can be heard on the "Vaudelville years" full version)?! It sure would be interesting to hear Billy do that one!

Come to think of it, Billy had some interesting words not for family ears in some of his movies like "Not like us", etc. so nevermind!

John

I really like the idea of Lindsey covering Danny's tunes. One I would particularly like is "Dragonfly". I think both the vocals and guitar would suit LB quite well. Some LB&SN harmonies on that would be icing.

I've also wondered what it would sound like to have Stevie singing "Oh Daddy". I think she could do a really good job with it. It was Stevie who came up with the lyrics "and I can't walk away from you baby if I tried" when Christine was stuck! If there's one Christine song that Stevie sings on this tour, I'd like it to be that.

I wouldn't particularly like anybody (member or ex-member of Fleetwood Mac, or anybody else) to cover a Peter Green song, other than Eric Clapton, who could probably pull off the guitar and vocals just as well.

Rick Vito does a great job with PG tunes...he's done a few:

Homework (actually an Otis Rush tune, but FMac did it during the Chess sessions...Rick recorded his version on his "Pink & Black" album...still in his set these days)
I Loved Another Woman (since 1987...still does it during his own shows)
Rattlesnake Shake (1987 & 1990 tours)
Stop Messin' Round (1990 tour)
