small article I found today
Was just googling around and found this, don't recall ever seeing it anywhere??
Wonder if they ever did visit her home. -Lis ************************** FLEETWOOD MAC TO PLAY LONDON WITHOUT MCVIE Ex-FLEETWOOD MAC singer CHRISTINE McVIE will remain happily at home when the newly-reformed band play London's prestigious EARL'S COURT venue next month (DEC03). The 60-year-old quit the GO YOUR OWN WAY legends ten years ago because she wanted to stop touring, and now lives in a mansion near Canterbury, England. But Christine's manager, MARTIN WYATT, says it is unlikely the keyboardist - who is now working on a new solo album - will join Fleetwood Mac on stage at the event. He says, "There has been no invitation or discussion about Christine joining the band on stage. "Appearing with them would be an embarrassment - and anyway, they have included only one of her songs in their show. "And she can't sit in the audience as people would probably spot her and make a fuss. She has spoken on the phone to one of them and hopefully they will be able to visit her at home. "There is not likely to be a riotous party, however, as the band cleaned up their act years ago and neither they nor Christine drink any more." 27/11/2003 13:44 |

Thanks for posting, Lis. I never saw this before. I wonder what he meant by "Appearing with them would be an embarrassment - and anyway, they have included only one of her songs in their show."
Chris did mention that she had dinner with them when they were in London. Maybe the dinner was at her house. |

Ya know, on second thought, it probably would've proved embarassing. Everyone would have instantly realized that FM, without Christine, is lame....and that would've proved embarassing for the rest of the band.

That was a stupid comment Wyatt made, and then to go so far as to say she couldn't even sit and watch the show because people would make a fuss?! watta negative nelly LOL. Chris needs to get a chap w/ more positive energy working for her.... -Lis |

OK, I checked the article again & it does say next month. So this must have been from early November. Still, regardless of when it was, there's no excuse for that "embarrassing" remark, in my opinion.
I do understand why she wouldn't want to sit in the audience. I think she did end up watching the show from the soundboard. |

Oh, I've seen that article before but can't remember where. I was appalled. I've always wondered how Christine liked Stevie's lyrics to Don't Stop.

She went to their last show at Earls Court on 10 Dec. Stevie dedicated Landslide to her. She must have been sitting in the heavily guarded area (which was right by the soundboard) with the rest of the friends and family. Gail PS some of us bought tickets for that show (on the strength of rumours that she might appear on stage) even though we didn't particularly enjoy the first show we saw! Oh Well |

I also read that she saw them BEFORE the show. You'd have thought she'd have taken the time to talk to Stevie about Don't Stop and TEACH HER THE DAMN WORDS! Mind you she probably didn't know Stevie constantly made a total mess of singing it. The first time I saw them she sang "Why not think about the things that you've done and not about the things that you've done" which was kind of in the right area but on 10 Dec what she sang at one point was completely incomprehensible. I hope Christine told her off! Gail |
