I Know I'm Not Wrong (Song #1 Alternate)

Does anyone love this alternate take of IKINW from the Tusk remasters as much as I do?? (It's song #17 on Disc Two) I don't know..but I like the beat and the melody much more than the finished version. BTW, does anyone know the exact lyrics? I tried listening closely and this is what I came up with:

I especially like the way he sings "oh, I had to be this strong, you know it's not easy" (if that IS what he is saying, I couldn't tell). I like the lyrics better too. So what does everyone think?

Hey Ali, I'm in total agreement with you about this song. Getting no less than three alernate versions of IKINW was the sweetest thing for me in that whole reissue package.

Your guess is as good as mine re the lyrics... but your transcription seems to be right.

I love it, too! (And, not to be echoing others, but your guess is as good as mine about the lyrics, too). I love how the alternate versions of that song are almost as good (maybe as good) as the one that was originally released and are also very different. And I'm just in love with that song in general.

My favorite of the 3 demos was the first one, the instrumental one. That one is heavenly.

True, but they all are.

whatever the take on this song is, I adore it. I just think lindsey was totally in this one, because all those BIG differences all have their own quality. The definate one is a perfect summary of the others too. It's just one of the best things he's written. It looks like it was impossible for him to do a mis-take on this one, because the basic idea was sooooo good.
