Default On With the Show DVD

I hope that a DVD is released of this tour. Once again I think its a missed opportunity. If this was the " Christine is back greatest hits tour" they should have/ should release a CD/DVD of this tour.

Looks like a big zero for a DVD but we got loads of Youtube videos.I dont know but Maybe thats why they did not bother with a pro shot DVD.

I hope their next tour is recorded especially since it would probably be their last one. But I would prefer a full release of the entire Mirage tour any day.

Which is, quite frankly, a horse**** excuse. If that was their view on the matter at hand, they would've stopped putting out live in general because of bootlegs but they kept doing so anyway.

I just don't think they care to because they think they aren't as good live as they used to be and may be self-conscious about it.

I agree. the rest of the band probably wouldn't care but I can totally see Stevie not wanting to be filmed due to her "advanced years".

I think any live DVD's/ CD's will now be put on hold until 2017.
Expect a barrage of various material to come out then.

I agree.I was thinking the cheap way out it.Maybe the same with tourbooks .Why bother making them with 1000 of good looking live shot photos that are plastered over the internet for free.

Think I rather watch the awesome Youtube footage by Clubdoc and Jim Powers then a over produced video with Starwars video effects or a copy of the venue screen pro camera footage.

Are you sure of that? The amateur film clips on Youtube likely have no impact regarding the decision to professionally film one of their shows. Given the propensity to milk their past, I'd would be a surprised if they didn't take the marketing opportunity to package a DVD/CD combo.

It's wishful thinking to assume another tour. The new/last album is still a hanging prospect (but I think it will still happen). I can't imagine them launching another tour of this magnitude. Hasn't John expressed that after this tour he is done with touring? Unless they are motivated by the money, they really don't have to do a massive tour to promote their last album. The fact that it will be their last album is promotion in itself.

Maybe if there were a cable outlet for it, we'd see a filmed concert. But other than that second-tier channel Palladia, is there anything?

If it were filmed by a well-liked movie director, it might get aired on IFC or one of the movie channels. I know Scorsese filmed a Stones concert a few years ago. But there isn't anything being done of the stature of U2's "Rattle & Hum" (which, despite some bad reviews in the rock press, played theaters). Some good directors have created decent rock documentaries: Jonathan Demme, Scorsese, Jim Jarmusch, Wim Wenders, Hal Ashby, Steven Soderbergh, David Lynch, Todd Haynes. Imagine a good director working with the Macsters.

I agree.

At the Meet&greet somebody asked Mick if they will release a video of the (On with the show) tour, he answered "I hope we'll do" but he doesn't sound too convinced.

In order for a DVD to come out there would have had to have been shows where the band were filmed professionally. To my knowledge, this did not happen at any of the venues. And if it did, the various members of the band would have spoken of it with sentiments like "tonight we couldn't screw up because we're being filmed," etc....

And if it had happened, I think audience members would have noticed. I think they tape the show every night just for the road crew's own personal review, but if they were filming it for a DVD, I think the cameras would be more overt.
