As everyone on here knows I'm a country bumpkin,I think it's about time.like a Eagles Common Thread version or Themselves which I prefer.
Oh I would love to hear a country versions of Dreams and Golddust Woman,Don't Stop, The Chain, or the rest of the album sang on the Grand Ole Opry.I will fly there.

Mick's info has been wrong before,so, I doubt this will happen.
However, if it does, what about Tanya Tucker? She did cross over to rock w/ her TNT album....and her cocaine addiction got her the title of "country music's Stevie Nicks", so, just sayin'!

Hmm. If Dolly Parton was on it I could totally see her singing Gold Dust Woman the way she covered Soul Alylum's "Shine"

What's with all this country hate? When I don't listen to FM, I mostly listen to country. Your musical palate is lacking dimension.

Until you've learned to love Bob Wills, you are truly missing out on some joyous music.

Now here you go, I see you, off to Google Bob Wills(and the Texas Playboys). Ahhh ha!

WOULD LOVE TO BE ON THE ALBUM:
Iris Dement
Dolly Parton
Big Blue Hearts (who I think are influenced by Law and Order-era Lindsey)
Bekka Bramlett
Brad Paisley
Keith Urban
Ray Scott

Wouldn't mind at all:

Emmy lou Harris
Kenny Chesney
Dierks Bentley
Loretta Lynn
Gretchen Wilson
Some hot guy who did a lovely homage to MJ that was on YouTube (really good singer, but can't remember his name; don't own any of his work)
Miley Cyrus
Taylor Swift
Lady Antebellum

And country-haters need to get real. You hate country but you love Bella Donna?

Imagine paying $1000 to hear "Don't Dream It's Over" instead of "Go Your Own Way"

Fleetwood Mac helped me through a time of heartbreak. 12 years later, they broke my heart.

I know! I listen to a wide variety of music, country included. Like all genres, you have to shift through the bull ****, and ignore crap like Rascal Flatts.

Emmylou Harris ("You Make Lovin' Fun")
Dolly Parton ("Oh Daddy" but she could sing just about anything - she'd be great on "Second Hand News" as well.)
Linda Ronstadt ("Silver Springs")
Iris Dement ("Never Going Back Again")
Patty Griffin ("The Chain")
Mary Chapin-Carpenter ("Songbird" or "Oh Daddy")
Sheryl Crow ("I Don't Want To Know")
Natalie Maines ("Gold Dust Woman" or "Silver Springs")
Julie Miller ("Dreams")
Rosanne Cash ("Go Your Own Way")
Martina McBride (could be okay with the right song -maybe "Second Hand News"?)

I would leave "Don't Stop" out of the equation - such a terrible song to begin with, covers only make it worse - Elton John anyone?

I'd like it to be an all female affair - none of those dirty old bastards need apply...

Sorry ButterCookie, I do adore Christine and I think her other three contributions to Rumours are all outstanding, but "Don't Stop" is a very basic song in my opinion, that was most definitely over-played (not her fault of course, but the result is undeniable). What I loved about "Oh Daddy" was further developed on her Tusk compositions - lovely all round just like the woman herself...

Country isn't the definition of musical diversity. I'll listen to anything except country (and rap). I think mostly it's the country twang that I can't stand..but really there's nothing about it I like. I have friends (naturally, living in Texas) that listen to a bunch of country...or even only country.....and on the few occasions when I've been stuck listening to their music it's been torture.

Who would you like to be on it, and performing which songs?

I have a hunch Faith Hill and Tim McGraw will want to appear. They’re both known to be FM fans.

Maybe Keith Urban for ‘Go Your Own Way’?

This is a horrid idea!!!! It turns my stomach simply to ponder it!!

The country Eagles tribute around the time of "Hell Freezes Over" was one thing. There was/is a country vibe to some of the Eagles music, but Fleetwood Mac? Not really.

There are a few Stevie songs here and there that could be re-worked to fit what you might possibly consider country music, but definitely not the entire "Rumours" album. That's just a joke and an insult in my opinion.

Can the idea before any tape and studio time is wasted.

Let any of you think I harbor some hatred toward country music, that would be horribly incorrect. Next to FM, my music library is full of more country artists than anything else. Examples: Willie Nelson (largest number of CD's in my collection next to FM), Waylon Jennings, Johnny Cash, Kris Kristofferson, (Nelson, Jennings, Cash and Kristofferson all as solo artists and as "The Highwaymen"), Travis Tritt, Alan Jackson, Merle Haggard, George Jones, Sara Evans, Patsy Cline, just to name a few.

I was raised on country music basically. Thus my love for the blues.
