There's a nice clear 'been' from Christine at the 5:30 minute mark on Part IV of the Fleetwood Mac on Q105 Tampa Radio - Tango In The Night interview that David posted in the Rumours forum. Have a listen! BTW, listen from the 4:53 mark for a fun question.

Unfortunately, YouSendIt is not working for me now & it hasn't since Wednesday evening. I already have this on CD. Where in the interview is this?

It's towards the end when this guy asks a question of Christine and Stevie since they're 'the musicians in the band'. Try around the 26:45 minute mark.

Thanks, Doug. I heard it now. She pronounced been as "bean". She said it the "English" way. The guys did seem to get a kick out of that question about Chris & Stevie being the musicians in the band.

Okay, I was listening to FM's Greatest Hits tonight, and Christine definitely says "bin" in "As Long as You Follow" -- "I've 'bin' searching. . . for a pot of gold."

"As Long As You Follow" was recorded here in the U.S. with an American producer. That could be why she said "bin" rather than "bean". I guess I'll have to listen for "been" more closely from now on.

Thanks for the thought. The only reason I began to notice this is because of the "bean" in "Friend." Obviously, as heard in the interviews, she continued to use "bean" when she spoke, even after all her years of living in the U.S. I guess I should go back and listen to her early (before she began living in the U.S.) materials to see if she sang "bin" or "bean."

Believe it or not, I thought of that. All of her albums before 1974 were recorded in England with English producers, so I would assume that she used the English "bean", assuming that word is in any of those songs.

Okay, now this is getting interesting. I just listened to "I'm on my Way" on "Christine Perfect," and she sings "bin."

Gloves and bolo tie...and I'll let her get away with it. But that is an image that is going to stay with me for a while!

Hey!, it was the eighties! Looking back, some of the clothing was RIDICULOUS(and I'm blaming MTV, and Wacko Jacko).

Most English people would pronounce been as "bin" in normal everyday speach.

I think it proves that Christine met Prince before Stevie did! (Christine is always well dressed, in my opinion. This is why it makes me exceptionally giggly! )
