Default Say You Will Channel Centre Mix

Hi guys,

Another forum member from one of my threads on the Stevie board sent me a demo version of Thrown Down that is apparently from the Channel Centre Mix of Say You Will. I love this version of the track and since I haven't heard of such a mix before I'm intrigued...

Is it a version of the entire album with the songs in demo form or what? Does anyone have any info on this? Thanks.

Yes!

There are CCMs of:
Rumours
The Dance
Say You Will
Live in Boston
Stevie's Soundstage Sessions

I don't have the Rumours or Live in Boston anymore on my computer -- but I have The Dance, SYW and SS if anyone would like for me to post in MP3s.

Oops, sorry - I got a little ahead of myself in my previous reply.

Anyways, it's basically just the sound that's taken from the center channel. I believe it can only be done on albums that have come out in 5.1 surround sound (so that's why we don't have Tusk, Mirage, etc in this format).

Each song you hear different instruments/vocals emphasized.
For example, on the SYM center channel mix on "Smile at You" - there are no vocals. It's just John's bass playing.

It's really a cool way to hear an album differently!!
Hope that helps a little bit, and maybe someone else could better explain the actual definition of "center channel mix"!

I'd love to hear The Dance and/or SYW if you don't mind posting. I've picked up the Smile at You and Thrown Down files that have been posted today--fascinating!

I'll post each CCM album that I have, starting with The Dance.

Just give me a while for the MP3 files to upload onto Mediafire!

The Say You Will album (CD) came out in DVD Audio, so did Rumours.
The Sound was mixed to 5.1 channels, with the option of listening to
it in 2.0 (stereo, of course).

If you have a DVD player that plays DVD Audio disc's, you can hook
your recording device to highlight any of the specific channels. You
have to have 5.1 channel analog audio outputs to do this in hi-resolution,
because the normal Dolby Digital outputs (optical and coaxial) downmix the
audio to a lower resolution. You know those record companies don't want
you recording anything in hi-rez.

It can be a lot of trouble switching out the cables, but you could choose to
record any of the particular channels in the 5.1 mix, again, as long as you
have a DVD Audio player.

Thanks! I LOVE the CCM version of Thrown Down that I recently heard, with just Stevie's vocals and the drum trakcs (maybe a lttle bass in there too but I'm not sure) so I'd really appreciat hearing other albums in this way. Just let us know when you've got them on mediafire and thanks again!
