Write Ridiculous Song Interpretations
I am bored and feeling childish right now. We've all read lengthy, serious discussions about the true meanings of Fleetwood Mac songs. But this time, let's just make up completely ridiculous song interpretations for ****s and giggles. I'll start.
Some have wondered why The Ledge is named that. The explanation is simple: in wooden shipbuilding a "ledge" is a supporting beam, also known as a "half beam" that does not cross the entire width of a ship's deck. In most cases, this is because a hatch or companionway is in it's way. Consider how Lindsey is "slippin' it through his fingers, watchin' how it grows." His penis is a "ledge," but he can't seem to make it more than a "half beam." As hard as he tries, he can't get his ledge down the companionway and onto a the lower deck. The song is, therefore, an angry lamentation about erectile dysfunction, a Freudian nightmare built around an esoteric reference to the construction of big seamen-filled objects. Also, "Tusk" looks kinda like "F^&k" if you take the middle line in the "F" and place it on the left side of the top. Make of that what you will. |
