Default The Visitor

Mick Fleetwood's album "The Visitor" from 1981 is now out on CD (again).

I'm sure you all know about Peter's contributions of "Rattlesnake Shake" and "Super Brains". It's a nice album.

I'm surprised that they haven't re-released "I'm Not Me". It was a much better album.

I notice it is out on Wounded Bird Records. A quick look at their website says they are a "CD reissue label". I know that Mick was talking about re-releasing it on Tall Man Records prior to that failing, but I wonder how who and what Wounded Bird Records are and how they ended up with it? I notice they are also the ones that re-released Sandy Stewart's Cat Dancer.

EDIT:
Wikipedia offers the following: Wounded Bird Records is a CD only, re-issue record label, that was founded in 1998 in Guilderland, New York. They re-release lesser known albums from both popular and lesser known artists, including Deborah Harry, Chic, David Blue, Marilyn Martin, Gordon Haskell, Jon Anderson, Adrian Belew, Ellen Foley, Argent, Blood, Sweat & Tears, Sparks and others. The bulk of the Wounded Bird catalogue is licenced from Warner Music Group (including Atlantic Records), but also from Sony BMG.
Also: Wounded Bird Records was formed in 1998 as a label that specializes in the reissue of albums from the 60's, 70's and early 80's on compact disc. All of their releases are properly licensed from the owner of the original masters, in most cases the original record label and sometimes the artists themselves. They strive to reproduce the original album cover artwork, converted to accommodate the CD size format.

Thanks Chris, I didn't know they had reissued Cat Dancer, I'm going to orderthat now.

I see on their site an e mail adderess: manager@woundedbird.com I wonder if we e mailed them requesting I'm Not Me if they'd consider it? They seem to like to release obscure Mac things (Flee, Douma's Night Eyes, Martha Velez Fiends & Angels, etc.)? Just a thought.

While you're emailing them, ask them for that Robbie Patton album too - you might save yourself $400+

No it's not. The only redeeming value of The Visitor is Peter Green's guest appearances, but that still makes it better. Cocaine is not good for musicians.

Hahahah

The same way we only bought Fleetwood's "Sonething Big" because of Jeremy Spencer's appearance...

Really? Then again, I'm a big fan of Todd Smallwood...

Yes I do think The Visitor is only re-released because of PG. However I still maintain that I'm Not Me is the more listenable album.

Although I was playing Shakin' The Cage the other day and got my wife to admit that it was ok. That is a big thumbs up from my Fleetwood Mac hating wife

So I should buy it on CD?

What's weird is I have the album
on vinyl. Still sealed though after
all these years. One day I suppose.

Wow bud, props to you!

I cringe every time my girlfriend so much as doesn't like a FM/FM related SONG.

And Visitor, to me, is one of the best solo outings by any Mac member that isn't Green or Buckingham. Shaking the Cage is okay and I'm Not Me is so gratingly awful; have it on vinyl, saw the cassette at a record shop down the road from my place for 11.99 (!!). I wouldn't buy that bollocks for more than a dollar and even then, it'd be only for completest purposes.

You'd be cringing a lot with my wife then. Sixteen members, 3000+ songs and she likes a total of 0. There are some though that she can tolerate better than others.

Really it isn't that bad.

For the sound quality alone, I think it's worth it. Then again, I'm a completest and wouldn't have been able to forgive myself if I didn't buy this even though I already has a bootleg CD.
