I know what you mean , and if I am reading the Billy Joel quote correctly , he is stating that 'his people' HOLD the front seats and then GIVE them to fans they feel deserving. I saw the same sort of thing at a Dave Mathews concert at Jones Beach; one of 'his people' walked up to my daughter, asked her how many people were in her group, and handed her 4 front row tickets, stating ENJOY !

My gripe with FM handling the same sort of situation is that Mick is out selling tickets in rows 1-10... in Philadelphia I managed second row center seats and was told by security that ONLY first row could go to the stage.. and in Hartford third row center, and once again security allowed ONLY first row to the stage.. This policy to me is fine if enforced equally; but when two songs into the show Fleetwood Mac security begin to bring their selected people to the stage I become a bit annoyed.

agree with what you are saying, and it is very possible that FM situation probably has a lot of similarity to what you describe. just my speculation, but looking at some of the venues and seeming security rules on the current tour, i think the problem with FM may be that the whole band is not on the same page, and they don''t agree whether they want people at the stage and that extra energy, or not.

I think you're right. It seems that there are different situations at different venues (which still seems odd - you'd think FM's security would have the same talk with the venue security before each show about how they want to do it.)

This definitely happened tonight. Big group of girls ushered right up front in front of our seats (Which were right in front of Lindsey).

Yep, quite a few people on Instagram report being brought up to the front by Mick's assistant. So people who bought a VIP in the third row can't get to the stage but certain types of people can pay for a nosebleed seat and get ushered up to the stage? I don't get it.

Hmmmm. I can see the headline now: Rock Guitarist needs pretty young girls to look at to keep him inspired shocker.

It happened in Boston too. Two girls in the skimpiest black dresses. At least they were into it, though.

At the show on October 25th? Yes I saw that. Makes no difference to me as I had front row. However, I do know of people who had second row VIP who were being told to go back from front row, so now how is that fair?
These are fans who not only paid $$$$$ for their ticket but also traveled very long distances to see the band.
It's just not fair to the people who paid hundreds of dollars for their ticket to be treated poorly either by venue security or the band's.

Unhappy

Well, if I had front row seats, & some young girls stood in front of me in front of Lindsey, I would be mad. I mean I'm short anyway & mostly everyone is taller than me. You pay for these tickets & parking (don't even get me started on the cost of parking), & they put them right in front from who knows where. You can bet that my husband would say something & me too for that matter.

I can't say I was mad to have a dozen beautiful young girls dancing around me... I'd say it added to the experience. haha

Yep, the 25th. I was in third row and I didn't even bother to go up. Sometimes standing right at the stage stinks. There are monitors that block your view of the whole stage. Now if they started shaking hands with fans, I would rush up just for that, even if I had a monitor in my face the whole night.

That was actually a smart move. There were already a bunch of men around Lindsey's mic that night. I was standing at the stage and was given the ok from Fleetwood Mac's security because I had a legitimate front row seat.
The couple next to me wanted to sit so they gave me a hard time for standing. They raised a ruckus and the guys who were in front of Lindsey started to give me attitude. I gave it right back to them and told them I had front row and was already given the green light to stand there. Then the man next to me pushed me down so I would be in front of Stevie's monitor and said "make room for my wife." I pushed right back. He said he paid a ton of money for his tickets and I said well so did we.
I've never encountered such rude people in my life. What is shameful is that it seems to be older people who just want to show how much money they spent on tickets and not enjoy the show.

Yeah, seriously a bunch of crankpots. I had 3rd row, dead center. It might have been the best view I have ever had at a Mac show. What a great time that was. So excited for Providence and Mohegan. Really nervous abot Mohegan. It's always a nightmare to get tickets for that venue. Any suggestions? Brokers? We did stubhub for both Boston shows. I can't NOT be up front. We sat on the loge next to Lindsey last time the mac was in CT and it just isnt the same what so ever.

The entire band could probably see YOU better because you stayed where you were. Yeah, Lindsey does bend down a lot and converse with the people that are right down by his feet on the far right, and if that's important to you, then try to get to the stage. Otherwise, staying back in the 2nd-5th rows gives you a better view of the band and they have a better view of you. (That's what I prefer)

I saw the "herding of the hotties" in San Jose on Tuesday. A couple of the crew members herded a group of about 15 girls near the soundboard. The second the lights went out, they were escorted straight down the aisle and placed in front of Lindsey.
