Default Big Yellow Taxi

Woah! I just discovered this on youtube, and I'm digging it. Is the video description correct that this was recorded for a Joni Mitchell album that was never released? What year was it? In that case, can someone post a good quality mp3 of it for me??

Thanks!

It was recorded in late 1999. It was scheduled to be released in 2000, which is when I leaked the 30 second clip of it. I finally got around to uploading the whole track Summer '06.

The Joni tribute CD was finally released in 2007, but for some odd reason "Big Yellow Taxi" didn't make the cut...

I think the collection kinda sucked for the most part, so maybe it was a good thing Lindsey wasn't on there. Personally I think you have to have a set of iron balls to attempt to re-interpret Joni- it can only be mediocre to the original. I think the only Joni cover I liked was Tina Turner's version of "Edith and the Kingpin."

OMG Tina blows Nora away on that album... but Edith and the Kingpin is such an amazing song... and Tina did it her way.. and now I love both version... absolutely amazing... and Herbie and Wayne Shorter.. keep the Joni feel for me..

Hmm, Stevie Wonder's take on "Woodstock" isn't on there either. I think there's at least one more too.

Oh wow, I'm totally shocked at how much I dig this! The production style is just perfection: typically quirky, innovative Lindsey... but very approachable. Kinda a precursor to what Gift Of Screws ended up sounding like. I'd LOVE a new Mac album to sound like this... innovative and different, yet familiar.
