No way will they have time to record a full album before the tour. They're not even getting together again until August to start rehearsing. I would love a 3-4 song EP but even that seems unlikely. Frankly, a tour with new songs AND deep cuts might be asking too much of the audience, so I say skip the new songs for this tour and focus on hits and deep cuts. Besides, the new songs from the Dance were the bathroom breaks, same thing with their last EP. I'm thrilled to never hear Temporary One, Sweet Girl, Bleed to Love Her, and My Little Demon again.

You'd like 3-4 new songs... But you have no interest in seeing them perform any new material... Because new material in 97 and '13 were bathroom breaks... But also have no interest in hearing said new material above ever again But you'd still like that 3-4 song ep of new material? ....Your point is exactly why "new music and deep cuts is too much to ask of the audience". Do the new music, but please...Play Gypsy with the 15 minute intro for me just one more time, the last ten years of touring wasn't enough. It's like asking the waitress to go down the salad dressing list, asking for one on the side, knowing the entire time you had no intention of even using the salad dressing in the first place.

I didn't say anything about Gypsy, and I never knew about a 15 minute opening to it. So...I'd like 3-4 new songs... but only from this lineup... But I'd rather hear them perform deep cuts first... But I have no interest hearing Temporary One, Sweet Girl, Bleed to Love Her, My Little Demon, or anything else post Tango unless it's from the BTM era... But yeah, I'd still like that 3-4 song EP of new material from the current lineup. |

Haaaaaaaa
Fleetwood Mac make a record or an EP in a month...that's a good one! It takes about a year for them to even debate releasing new music while starting work on new music, a year for passive aggressive behavior to come and go, at least one if not two greatest hits tours to come and go in order for new material to happen. This band couldn't fart in a mason jar within a month. It doesn't matter how prolific Neil or Mike may be, unfortunately it will not be their call to make. This all sounds strangely familiar...but this new lineup will reinvigorate this band and it's going to be all new again...

And somebody was doing private corporate gigs as of **last week** if that's any indication of the dedication to this "new band"
But Lindsey won't be holding up Fleetwood Mac anymore. *

Fleetwood Mac is so far removed from any comparison to "most bands".
You're partially correct. A Lindsey led Fleetwood Mac can't record in under a month because it wouldn't involve Mike Campbell coming to somebody's rescue with a buffet of unused tracks that can be aligned to 40 year old demos. And as I already said, if recording new music were remotely a priority why are some members of the band doing private corporate gigs as of last week? But back to all the heated discussion about everyone's timeless favorites from Behind the Mask...

Those were good songs!
They can do it fast if Finn already has something worked up that they can just put some harmonies on, and Stevie can put one of her old poems to a Campbell instrumental. They won't be too picky if they're going to do this. Fleetwood Mac will go from "Perfectionism" to "Good enough", I imagine. You can achieve the latter a lot more quickly. Sorry, Mitzo!
But even though you like them, do you like them enough that you'd rather hear them at the expense of other songs? I'd rather hear Angel, Straight Back, That's Alright, No Questions Asked, even Paper Doll over Sweet Girl. Or Brown Eyes, As Long As You Follow, or Isn't It Midnight over Temporary One. Especially since both those songs are recorded for posterity on the Dance DVD. More than any other song, I'm really hoping they perform As Long As You Follow, but it seems so unlikely... but that is the one song that would guarantee I would be there to see them in concert. |

Angel is also an odd song for me... I feel like it kind of goes on and on and finishes weakly, but since I'd love to hear deep cuts, I'd be fine if they did this live. But I'd prefer That's Alright or Straight Back over Angel. I feel like Stevie could do to Straight Back live what she did to Silver Springs during the Dance. |
