Default Signed record sleeve...Early years

Hi, new to the forum and just after a bit of advice really. first post so hello all.
Bit of background... My late father was a DJ and compare back in the day and went all over the place rubbing shoulders with many groups.
I have his record collection and amongst it all sorts of memorabilia.

I came across this white 7in sleeve signed by

Peter Green
mick Fleetwood
John McVie
Danny Kirwan
Jeremy Spencer

I'm just intrigued by it really so thought I'd post in here. Although I'm a fan and went
to see the band a couple of years ago I know nothing about autographs.
Is this sort after, rare or have any value? (other than sentimental to me)

Thanks in advance,
Jim

Have no idea of what the value might be for something like this, but it's very cool! Welcome to the forum and thanks for sharing the photo, Jim!

a "welcome to the party" from me as well, jim! that's exactly what i'd do - if i had such an item: frame it . . . and NEVER sell!

It's remarkable how legible all the autographs are.

I think this is a precious artifact and it would be worth something to a collector. How much is difficult to say. But maybe it's worth more to you. Only you know the answer to that.

Because it'd be pretty difficult to get Danny's autograph now, on top of everyone else's on the same item, I'd think at least asking $150 u.s./80 pounds going by prices I've followed from auctions mentioned in Record Collector mags of the last decade or so. It doesn't help that it's a plain sleeve though. Nice to see!

Thanks for your comments.. Sadly there was no record with it or outer sleeve.
I'd love to know what year it was done I'm guessing between 68-70??
Am I in the right ballpark?

Yes, that would be correct for the range of years. Danny joined the band in summer 1968 and Peter left in spring 1970.

I have a copy of Albatros on 7in CBS 1968 with jigsaw puzzle blues on the b side.
I've been in touch with a firm online that make custom vinyl display frames.

I'll post a photo when I get it

to make it look REAL GOOD i'd suggest an original blue horizon pressing - not too expensive, but that would serve for a real eye catcher! just a thought . . . but, anyway, congratulations for your decision to hold on to it.

i don't know where you're living, jim (postage!), but here are some truly cheap copies to be found:
http://www.discogs.com/sell/release/541024?ev=rb
as it's inside the sleeve when it's framed, the 45 doesn't have to be in "mint" condition really, does it?!
all the best

ah . . . the danish / swedish release. a strange one, innit - despite being the single heralding danny's arrival, its cover depicts the four-piece line-up. well, a bh-version of this single will definitely be more apt for your purposes. but if you're aiming at a copy with a decent company sleeve or picture sleeve, it'll cost you slightly more, of course. on the other hand: if you can present both in one frame - the single in the signed sleeve plus a picture cover . . . surely a great sight to see!
