Default Oh Well - Can someone help me out?

I was just watching the Tango video today and had forgotten just how great that version of "Oh Well" is and I'm hoping someone can (or already has) rip the audio of it for me and make it into an MP3.

I'd greatly appreciate it.

I've always felt that Billy did a much better job of the song than Lindsey. In fact, Billy's renditions are second only to Peter's original, in my eyes.

"Oh Well" (Live @ the Cow Palace - 12/12/87)

Hey Vicky,

I don't have the audio rip from the DVD, but I do have Oh Well from Salt Lake City, 11/28/87, and Gothenburg, Sweden, 10/28/88.

I agree with you, JS. I also think that Lindsey's early versions of Oh Well were much better than his later ones.

I assume you mean singing it?

God, now I'm all confused!

Yeah, I meant singing it. I felt he put more "oomph" into it than Lindsey.

I really love the Tango version of Oh Well too, but I don't really know the original one that well.
I think Billy does a great job.

This is going to piss off a few, but I think Billy did the song the best (alone, BTW), followed by Bob (who really did a lot of interesting things with the Green material), then a tie between Lindsey and Peter.

May the fleas of a million camels invade your armpits for lumping those two together. Here I was, pretty much agreeing with you up to that point. C'mon, Steve-o, Lindsey plays (uh...PLAYED, past tense) "Oh Well" as if he was reading the guitar part off of tablature for the first time (and with his fingers taped together).

You can't blame me for being confused because half of the respondents are talking about the vocals & the other half are talking about the guitar work.

(did Billy even play the damn song in '87? I thought it was Rick)

Yes, Billy played "the riff" WITH Rick and then rhythm guitar the rest of the song.

Default Vito & Burnette

Well all I can say is it took two guitarists to try and replace Lindsey and as we all know that failed! So I rest my case )))

Due in large part to the fact that hardcore Rumours-era fanatics aren't the most open minded people and don't like change.

I used to be one of those people, but these days I find that I prefer Burnette to Buckingham. He's a superior lyricist and is FAR more prolific in terms of actually getting material RELEASED.

Last Billy Burnette solo album: 2006
Last Lindsey Buckingham solo album: 1992

And, of course, both Time and Behind the Mask rank higher on my list than Rumours.

I still love me some Lindsey, but he's not the be-all end-all of Fleetwood Mac guitarists and neither is Peter Green.
