Lightbulb Time

I was just checkin' out Time on Yahoo shopping and listening to some clips. I am not a fan of Bekka's lead vocals but her harmonies with Billy are pretty good. I am liking what I hear of Talkin' To My Heart, Sooner or Later, Nights in Estoril, All Over Again (which I dl'ed from Kazaa quite awhile ago..shhh...LOL) and I don't like Blow by Blow, BUT I do kinda like I Wonder Why.

I'm sure one of these days I'll get Time, Kiln House, English Rose, etc...all the ones I don't have as of right now. I would first like to get all CD's that Danny is a part of....then work my way to completing my FM collection from there.

Just wanted to peek in here and give my 2 pennies.

Arrow John...

Well, Yahoo only gives 30 second clips so I didn't get to hear MUCH. LOL Lindsey is on that song?! Cool!! They never pick the GOOD 30 seconds for the songs, so the part I heard was probably not with LB...but I didn't know that...I'll have to go have another listen. LOL

Yeah, I must admit, I wouldn't even have known he was on the song if the CD liner notes didn't list it but yeah he is apparently on that song according to the liner notes in "Time".

You can hardly hear him.

As you can't possibly hear Dave Mason singing in tunes besides his own two, or two much harmonizing between Bekka and Christine, for example. Just to show that this wasn't really just one band. It was two bands (or even more) which happen to share a record. And that is what makes this a very fragmented work. The fact that you find great pieces of music ("Talkin' To My Heart", "All Over Again", "Hollywood (Some Other Kind Of Town)", "I Do" or "Dreamin' The Dream") in the album doesn't save it from being a very discontinuing and not so fluid piece of work.

Right...and the way they tracked it, it just magnifies the lack of continuity. If they'd rearranged the running order, the flow of the album would've been improved, I think.

How I reprogram the CD:

I Do
Talking To My Heart
I Wonder Why
Winds Of Change
Sooner Or Later
Dreaming The Dream
Nights In Estoril
Nothing Without You
I Got It In For You
Hollywood (Some Other Kind Of Town)
Blow By Blow
These Strange Times
All Over Again

It's probably just me, but I kinda like when albums have different producers on different tracks, it makes it that more varied, you don't know what's coming next. I mean, sure it's an added bonus if it flows as an album but it's JMHO anyways though those that feel "Time" was a "sham" when it comes to being a "band" effort may have good reason to think what they do. I guess like many that prefer to choose to ignore the negative elements of the BN lineup, I tend to block out the negative things about non BN Mac lineups, it's a two way street after all.

If that's the case then check out any album by Britney Spears or O-town. I think you'd really like them.

OK, I'll rephrase, I kinda like albums BY CLASSIC ARTISTS that have different producers on all the tracks.
