Idol was good last night, but I'm looking forward to tonight. The group thing always screws them up. It's like another person is on stage & they forget how to walk & talk, let alone sing.

I can't believe they are only taking 12 boys and 12 girls to the semi-finals. Are the finals going to be 6 boys and 6 girls this year?

I am looking forward to the group thing tonight, too. This is the drama night. It seems like everyone gets along except on the group night. Should be entertaining!

I didn't realize they had to have a certain amount of boy and girls! I thought it was just whoever made it. The finals are always 12...right?

This year they changed it....12 boys and 12 girls. They are taking 24 instead of 32 to the semi-finals.

I dunno about the finals, though.

Hmm...well maybe it will be 6 and 6 then. That would kind of suck. They should just take who is the best, regardless of if they are boys or girls.

I believe it is 6 & 6 this year, after that it's whoever the audience picks.

I think I remember hearing that with the initial 12 & 12, the audience will vote off 2 of each gender every week for a few weeks until it gets down to a total of 12. After that, it's the usual.

Also - NO audience OR judge wild card picks either this year. I don't think that's right.

So, there will be three weeks of semis? Guys on one night, girls on the other? I think this might be better because they will be singing more than once to stay in the game. However, not having the judge's picks is a bad idea. They usually pick the good ones.

I believe so, unless I misunderstood. I agree with you about the judge's picks too. Not like anyone cares what WE think about it, lol!

I was a little disappointed that the chick who hocked her wedding ring didn't make it. I thought she was good enough, but she was pretty nervous. She was so heartbroken, I felt terrible.

What do you guys make of that other chick who quit?

I wanted the girl who sold her wedding ring to get through, too. It wasn't like she was amazing (she was ok), I just felt sorry for her. As for the girl who quit, I can understand where she is coming from. I couldn't leave my 3 year old to take my chances on some reality show! BUT you would think she'd have thought of that before she even auditioned!

Well that was alright. I'm suprised they put the last 3 guys through! They were all very charismatic though, I'll give them that. I felt bad for the little Asian girl (who's skirt I loved by the way). She was a bit ditzy, but the other 2 in her group seemed like real bitches. And she seemed like she CAN sing...if she could have remembered the words! Who was Paula fighting for? The blonde guy?

I'm guessing for the guy with the corn rows. Didn't she lose the battle, not making it the blonde guy?
