Question Gift of Screws track order

I'm making up a cd of most of the available GOS tracks and was trying to come up with the "perfect" order....i'm just curious as to what everyone else has....i'll post later what i've come up with so far but right now i seem to like "Peacekeeper" and then "Twist of Fate"....i also like "Come" and then "Down on Rodeo". not sure about the rest.

When I burned my disc originally (on an 80 minute CD), before "Peacekeeper" was made available, I used the following track-listing.

(In the interest of fairness, I *think* this was based on a track-listing that chiliD originally posted... but I can't remember now.)

1. Gift Of Screws
2. Miranda
3. Steal Your Heart Away
4. Red Rover
5. Deep Dense
6. She Smiled Sweetly
7. Come
8. Down On Rodeo
9. Gotta Get Away
10. Given Thing
11. Try For The Sun
12. Blue Turns To Grey
13. Shuffle Riff
14. Murrow
15. Someone's Gotta Change Your Mind
16. Bleed To Love Her
17. Twist Of Fate
18. Wear You Down (Steve's Riff)
19. Say Goodbye
20. The Singer Not The Song

If you don't mind omitting a couple of the songs that seem to be "incomplete thoughts," you can get a tighter track-listing out of....

1. Gift Of Screws
2. Bleed To Love Her
3. Miranda
4. Steal Your Heart Away
5. Red Rover
6. Twist Of Fate
7. Someone's Gotta Change Your Mind
8. Down On Rodeo
9. Deep Dense
10. Gotta Get Away
11. Try For The Sun
12. Murrow
13. The Singer Not The Song
14. Shuffle Riff
15. She Smiled Sweetly
16. Peacekeeper
17. Come
18. Say Goodbye

Oh, and yeah, I left off "My Little Demon" both times.
Lindsey's solo version doesn't do anything for me... I prefer the way he did it with Fleetwood Mac.

Hope this helps you come up with a good track-listing for your CD, Joe.

thanks....i'll try it...right now i have:

Gift of Screws
Shuffle Riff
Twist of Fate
Peacekeeper
Miranda
Red Rover
Come
Down on Rodeo
Gotta Get Away
Bleed to Love Her
Say Goodbye
On the Wrong Side
Steal Your Heart Away
Murrow
Try for the Sun
She Smiled Sweetly

There's infinite possibilities....One thing i don't want to do is put all the stronger songs all together which i may have done...In other words, i'd like to take a dark song like "come" and then back it up with "down on rodeo" and so forth...i'll try your order too and see how it sounds...thanks!

Hey Joe, what about the missing ones? If you like give me an email address and I`ll send it right along.
By the way- on the wrong side is not one of those,it`s from the 1995 soundtrack "With honors" CU, S

Default this is a trip

I may have a bit of a different take on this one:

When I first discovered GOS on Audiogalaxy, I went nuts. And it took me forever to figure out what was going on. That's when I first discovered this forum and kind of got the scoop on this. Anyway, I only included 14 tracks on my Cd (out of about 18 that I downloaded at the time - about a year ago). I only included the ones that were most consistent with each other in terms of quality, and I feel that the flow of the songs on the CD I burned turned out really nice. And I don't remember peacekeeper being available at that time or I would've included it too.

1. Shuffle Riff
2. Twist of Fate
3. Bleed To Love Her
4. Murrow
5. Miranda
6. Down On Rodeo
7. Come
8. Red Rover
9. Gotta Get Away
10. She Smiled Sweetly
11. Gift of Screws
12. The Singer Not The Song
13. Say Goodbye
14. Steal Your Heart Away

Interestingly, I don't think I've heard "Blue Turns To Gray" or "Given Thing" - which really bums me out!!! I do remember some of the others being of substandard quality, which is why I didn't want to include them.

Arrow My list...

I went with the whole "rock out then a ballad" approach. LOL I'm not good at putting tracks in some kind of spectacular order in terms of flow or anything. I don't care what song comes before or after what, as long as I get my music, GIVE IT TO ME!! LOL I left off Given Thing and Blue Turns to Grey because frankly, I don't care of either of the songs, plus they aren't finished sounding.

1. Bleed to Love Her
2. Murrow
3. Down on Rodeo
4. GOS
5. Try for the Sun
6. Shuffle Riff
7. Miranda
8. Twist of Fate
9. Steal Your Heart Away
10. Red Rover
11. Someone's Gotta Change Your Mind
12. The Singer Not the Song
13. She Smiled Sweetly
14. Come
15. Deep Dense
16. Gotta Get Away
17. Say Goodbye (Most appropriate to end with, IMO)

I actually am sold on the A-B-C order copy I have. BTLH starts it off which is nice, and end it with "Twist Of Fate" which is appropriate.

I just don't think "Say Goodbye" had enough for a closer. Not enough pizzaz imo.

Well, if was based on MY list, #7 would DEFINITELY NOT be on it! I must've d**ked around with the list after I'd posted mine. My own personal GOS starts with "BLTH".

Well now most of those songs on your lists aren't GOS songs, they are SYW songs now. So here is the REAL GOS since the others are now Fleetwood Mac 'Say You Will' tracks...

1. Gift of Screws
2. Got To Get Away
3. My Little Demon
4. Down On Rodeo
5. The Singer Not The Song
6. Wear You Down
7. Deep Dense
8. Someone's Gotta Change Your Mind
9. Blue Turns To Gray
10. Shuffle Rift
11. Down On Rodeo
12. Given Thing
13. Try For The Sun
14. Twist Of Fate

This is what Gift Of Screws is now, so I think I'll make a CD of these tracks.
