Default Guitar Questions

Okay, I haven't posted in a while, and so of course I start with a thread that most people won't care about. But oh well.

Okay, here's my questions. They are concerning guitar playing and FM songs:

1. The song Not That Funny-- is it an A, B and E chord all the way through? I've been listening to it and trying to figure it all out, but I can't quite get it all. I'm not too good at picking things out from songs just by listening, cause I've only been playing for about a year and a half now. What are the chords for the line "I didn't wanna bleed so... I didn't wanna be this late... So don't make me wait!"??? I've been diong A, D, A, E, A, B, A, E, A, B then A... it sounds ok, but its a little choppy. Any suggestions? It sounds pretty good with the B and A chords if you lift your pinky finger up and down occasionally off of the B string, in a similar way to how it's done for Go Your Own Way.

2. What are the chords for the song I Loved Another Woman? Anyone know how to play the intro that could help me out a little? I've managed to do a few little things that sound similar, but still not quite right.

3. What were the chords for I Believe My Time Ain't Long again? I asked this once before, but I never printed it out so now I forgot what they were...

4. Does anyone know the chords used in Gypsy? I can play the stuff that is played for lead, but it would be nice to be able to just kind of strum the song a little bit.

5. Blow By Blow? Chords...?

6. Planets of the Universe chords...?

One more...

6. Everyday chords...?

Thanks to anyone who helps me out here, I really appreciate it. Hopefully someday I'll be able to play guitar just like Lindsey. Thanks a bunch all...

Adam, I'm not sure where you're getting A, B and E for not that funny. Maybe Lindsey has played the song in the key of E at some point? Not sure. But the original song is in C. Here's how it goes:

Starting with C, alternate with G7 every other bar. After he sings "It's not that funny, is it?" the second time, switch to G, or G5 after the last G7 and alternate between G/G5 and F. So when he sings, "I didn't want to bleed so," he's just switching between G and F. After "Don't make me wait," go back to alternating between C and G7. After the second verse, back to G/G5 and F.

And that's about it.

Gypsy is more complicated:

Verse
F Fmaj7 F6 F Bbmaj7 C Bbmaj7 C Repeat

Keep this progression all the way to the bridge, where after she sings "You see your gypsy," go through the F6 to F switch and then do this: Dm C F Bb and repeat twice. Back to the verse progression with "She is dancing..."

Wonderful song. It will take you while to get it. If you have trouble with the Bbmaj7, play a Dm instead. I'll sound a little different, but not much.

I don't know the other songs. Maybe someone else can help you.

Adam, I'm not sure about any of the chords, but you can get them off the Peguin.

Yea I'll just second what CarneVaca said by saying that I don't have a clue where you're getting A. B and E from for Not That Funny.....?

Stick to the chords that he wrote for it, they're spot on! Same goes for Gypsy.

If I'm playing Not That Funny in "busker mode": during the part between "please, oh please" and "I didn't wanna bleed so", I like to pick out the treble strings while simultaneously playing rhythm with the middle and bass strings...it gives it that alternating sound that you hear during that part in the song. Give it a go, see if you like it.
