I am pretty sure SC has loads of cash as she does not seem to live any kind of opulent lifestyle. In fact. didn't Stevie say that SC had a tiny place in NYC. Granted, that likely was still a million dollars -- but someone of her stature could easily afford this Brobdingnagian nest (which I want BTW) -

Also, I think SC, like most artists realize money is made only on the road now. I mean she may sell a million records, but that hardly matches a 20 city tour at $50,000+ a show plus the merch. rev.

Personally, I don't want to hear any Sheryl solo stuff in FM's set. It's bad enough to hear Stevie and Lindsey's solo stuff in a FM setting. Sorry, but I've felt this way since the Tango era when they started it. And I'm like this with every band that has front people as soloists. You go to their solo concerts to hear the solo stuff. Especially with a band like FM that has a lot of stuff in their catalog that never sees the light of day. When they include a solo song, it takes the place of a band song that might not otherwise be performed....

I'm sure this is related to the hub-bub that Stevie wasn't going to tour without Christine. Well, this isn't Christine. It is another female, but it isn't Christine. I hope that the band has thought this through.
Of course it will change the dynamic. But why assume that will make it suck? It could be amazing.

I think she moved to Nashville a few years ago. I don't even think one could even find a 3 million dollar house in Nashville!

There's no doubt that she has made tons of money between recordings (for which she receives producer royalties as well as publishing and performing) and the road. But she stands to make a lot more money with FM.

I know it's off topic, but did you hear about the looming foreclosure of Aretha Franklin's mansion in Detroit due to $19K worth of outstanding property taxes? The house is supposedly worth $700K, which... to be honest, doesn't seem like a lot of money for a star of Ms. Franklin's stature. I mean, WTF? That might get you an older handyman special one bedroom coop in NYC. If you're lucky. I know she probably got screwed over by Motown, and she hasn't received much in the way of publishing, but she has cranked out a ton of hit records over the decades. But then again, she doesn't tour very much due to her refusal to fly (not that she would exactly fit in one of the seats these days ). I dunno... it just seems odd that I am a complete nobody and my house is worth more than the Queen of Soul's...

She chalked it up to an oversight by her lawyers and/or the people who run her stuff for her. Though I think she had some tax troubles years ago and artists of that era were screwed out of lots of the royalties, Aunti Re Re still makes lots of cash - in fact, she usually insists that something like 1/2 ofher fee is pain in actual cash She says she is going to pay it - so we'll see. But, yes, if she can't afford $19,000 or be able to get that though a mortgage or a one off gig - then she is trouble. Detroit, though leads or in in top few cities in the country in foreclosures. So, it could be possible. I mean $700,000 for a "mansion" is not that much in any city

I'd rather see them tour without Christine then to see them tour with Sheryl Crow.

Why should this be in the Rumours forum? It's not ABOUT the Rumours lineup. POST-Rumours forum, yeah, that I'll go along with.

This is such exciting news, it dragged me out of "lurkism"! My husband called me this morning to say he just heard on the radio that SC was going to tour with FM! and I'm like "say what?!?" So the news has spread to Canadialand! Wow, first Stevie's coming back to Casino Rama and now this! All in the same week

I am a huge fan of Sheryl's, but the jury is still out on my opinion of this. I wish that she would produce a new FM album, adding her own backing vocals here and there. I can't say I'm crazy about the way SYW turned out, and I think an outside producer could have made all the difference in making SYW have more continuity than what it ended up being (sounds like two solo albums badly spliced together). I think Sheryl is a great producer, very much in line with FM's style: quirky and somewhat groundbreaking, but pop friendly too. Looks like she's just going to be joining the band for another tour though. Perhaps she'll encourage the band to bring out some oldies like Sisters Of The Moon, or more obscure songs like Storms or something. Perhaps she can help them freshen up their sound on road worn classics. I guess in the end I don't think this is a bad thing, but unless a new album is involved, I can't say it's a great earth shattering thing either.

That STILL is my favorite version of GDW with Stevie singing. (the 1994/95 tour with Bekka is my favorite Fleetwood Mac version)

You say that like it's a BAD thing. At this stage, Fleetwood Mac's dynamic NEEDS changing. It's about f-ing time the dynamic changed, even in a small way. They're whole history has been about constant dynamic changes. When Christine joined after Peter Green left; when Bob Welch joined after Jeremy flew the coop; when Stevie & Lindsey joined when Welch burned out; even the Time crew shook the cage (I enjoyed them immensely but I'm obviously in the minority)

What's the big deal? Even without Sheryl, they didn't drag out any "gems" from the vaults...just Rumours, white album, a couple of Tusk & Mirage tunes...and the mandatory 4 or 5 songs from their most current album which won't see light of the set list on any subsequent tours. Having Sheryl in there will most likely shake up the set list (THANK GOD!)...and that can't be a bad thing.

Hell, the Eagles play their group hits AND their solo hits...since 1997, Fleetwood Mac seems to want to immitate whatever the Eagles do, so why not add MORE solo tunes to their set. Maybe they'll FINALLY drop a long-past-its-prime Rumours tune or two. Which also wouldn't be a bad idea.

It's Only Love would be a cool addition to the set.

I Think this is compleate b.s.
Sheryl Crow is nothing more then someone that can't help to thrust herself in the spotlight at someone else's expense and talent. Years ago you saw her pop up at every music benifit there was. Not doing her own set but she has put herself onstage with everyone from the allman brothers band to the rolling stones. I love stevie but think about how much
different tisl would have sounded if sheryl crow's ''influince'' was not all over it. Now she is
''joining'' fleetwood mac? no no no she is ''jock sniffing'' fleetwood mac. Mick and john please
don't let this happen. I really don't want the final chapter of this great band written this way. the band don't deserve it..the fans don't deserve it..and history don't deserve it
I can see the set meeting already

ok we need to bump rhiannon for my favorite mistake
i'm so afraid to be replaced with soak up the sun
all i wanna do replaces stand back

how much worse can this get?? oops we were gonna bring back storms but we are doing a sheryl song instead.

I have a REAL problem with this. I love Sheryl Crow, I love Fleetwood Mac, but together?? Woah! I think that's just taking it a little too far. It almost feels like Fleetwood Mac is selling out. No doubt this is Mick's doing, he's probably in debt again...let's see it's been three years since the Say You Will tour...yea, that's enough time for Mick to spend all his money and be bankrupt.

Please, Lord, don't let this Fleetwood Mac/Sheryl Crow thing happen! Fleetwood Mac is NOT Fleetwood Mac without Mick, John, CHRISTINE, Lindsey and Stevie performing together. Take one of em out and replace em with someone else and they'll suck.

I'm glad they chose someone 'young'. Christ, who was next on their list to ask, Lulu?!

The exciting/non-safe route to take would be inviting someone in their 20's to join. Maybe a boy and girl singing/songwriting act in their mid-to-late 20's, for example.

I'm not gonna worry about it cos I'll believe it when I see it.
