Just don't see how you can put a "beginner's listening list" of Fleetwood Mac songs and not include "Oh Well'.

It's not that she doesn't like ballads, in fact she loves power-ballads, but she she's an active type and likes to listen to songs that accompany her in her activities (you wouldn't listen to Songbird while running for example).
That being said, she doesn't like too sad songs. For example she wouldn't like Songbird much but she could like Brown Eyes.
If you ran at my pace you would.

That being said, I actually do have a FM workout playlist-

The Chain
IDWTK
Oh Well (Live album version)
DLMDA
Don't Stop
SHN
GYOW
Tusk
NGBA

Might be a bit Lindsey heavy for some though.

Simply Because my mom doesn't like blues or like I've already said anything too heavy. She's a pop-rock mom.

Oh, you're right! It was so simple!

Well, I guess all mothers and fathers are different- especially depending on how old you are yourself in the first place.

I'm just picturing the sort of stuff that would appeal to my mum- she'd go for the softer, more laid back, 'poppy' romantic and generally sentimental songs... things that have lots of 'love this, love that, love you, love him, love her' etc etc.

Men of a certain age in my family would be more likely to dig anything with guitars in it. I think (on the whole) men are more likely to appreciate bluesy-type music. Dad's are (a bit) more likely to associate with angst and melancholy.

I actually got into FM through my parents. They played Tango In The Night to death in the car. Aside from that album I dont think they were ever particularly big fans though.

I understand. Actually my fav playlist resembles much more your dad's list than your mom's list but I have to say that my family follows a similar pattern to yours, but for different reasons; my father and the other men seems to like more rhytmic music that is heavily based on guitar while we women prefer melodic sounds usually driven by pianos.

Quick update: Mother has lamented the lack of italian artists in her playlist, so I fixed it. She hasn't said anyhting about Fleetwood Mac but the only artist she said she didn't enjoy was Billy Joel.
