The Ledge Awards 2010?

I was just wondering if we should have an end of year award thingy.
If so, these awards would show the true board that we are.
eg. Funniest moment of the year

Stevie fan of the year should go to Miranda.
Not sure who should get the Lindsey one. Probably Bee.
Man of the Mac should go to someone that loves all eras and aspects of the band, and I can't really think of anyone for that, same for Woman of the Mac.

As for funniest moment, for me it is easily way back in the year when we got those candid shots of Stevie at the steak house, and Louie posted a picture of a bull dog. I can still think of that and laugh hysterically.

Man of the Mac Award

(Given to members of the Ledge who contribute a lot to the board. Someone that loves all eras and aspects of the band)

(The Ledgie that rocked our socks in 2010)


Nobel Ledgie Peace Prize

(Someone who is kind all-round, and welcomes new ledgies young and old. They keep the peace at the Ledge.)

I'll have to think specifically within the above guidelines to send a PM about it, but off the top of my head, for Stevie fan of this year, and every year, HejiraNYC and MikeBise can't be beaten by anyone.
They win hands down, just my opinion.
vivfox should win Mr. Congeniality, but I don't think that was a category. Dodather belongs in there, somewhere, too.
Funniest: Well. Several. 'The Stevie of Death' and 'Photo Of The Day' man likely worked the hardest. I need to look his name up, because Stevie of Death is more than a year old, but it's the same man who posts all the photos with captions and allows others to add captions. Will try to find his name, and edit.
^SortaSavageLike is the man's name. How could I have needed to look it up? Huge favorite of everyone's on The Ledge. "Special Award Of Artistic Merit" seems good.
Oh, ok, and I admit it, I think I am ****ing hilarious, when I'm not maudlin, or sometimes even more, then!

I think gldstwmn deserves the 'Most Missed Ledgie' award, she posted a night ago, song lyrics, but how I loved to read her thoughts in past years, and this year, apparently she went and got a life! The nerve!
Carrie gets my 'Runner Up Award' for 'Most Missed Ledgie', because I feel responsible for her writing significantly less on The Ledge than she had. Hate me if you must, don't accept or respond to a sincere apology since you don't care to, but please do still write here a lot like you used to, and I promise not to reply.
LukeA deserves a nomination, belated or not, for 'Major Scoop of The Year' for finding and sharing 'Call On Me For Magic', bringing it to thousands of people, and never asking for any credit or drawing anyone's attention to the fact that it was he who brought it to all of us. I think that's classy.
Silver Springs has to win 'Newcomer Of The Year' award. Nomination submitted.
David could get a 'Lifetime Ledge Achievement Award'- even though 100 years ago, when I was very new here, David asked if I was 'trolling' him when I insisted that I remembered SN opened with 'Edge of 17' at Peace Sunday. He said it was 'Sara', and I deferred. Years later, I found the set list on line for the entire event, posted it, and my memory had not failed me, as he said it had. She did open with Edge. But so what? He still is the best of the best and has contributed brilliantly.
Daniellaarison has to win something- "Is that what you want?"- If that's not what she wants, she still deserves it!
Iamnotafraid, JannieC, and aperfectlie get 'hero' nominations for "Ledgie Survivor Of The Year".

I think you should and must extend your Christmas deadline. Peoples is bizzy enough this time of year without one more pressure!
How about sometime the first week of January for deadlines for PMs to you, and winners announced in late January or February 1? That's awards season, anyway

Yes, MissLadyLoki, you do! I was thinking about who I may have left out, and your name was first. I thought of 'Nicest Ledgie' but think that may not be good enough and will have to contemplate more.
This can't possibly be done right with a Dec. 25 deadline with results on New Year's Day, just sayin'.
