I like this answer a lot. Have you read Blonde by Joyce Carol Oates? It's a great re-imagining of Marylin's entire life. I'm reading it right now and it is fantastic! Beware, it's over 700 pages long!

Sounds good. Biographies are my preferred choice of reading, and too many seem to be limited to about 260 pages, hardly enough to properly give details of a life, particularly when the subject is dead. The surface stuff is just re-hashed, usually, when biographies run on the short side.
With 700+ pages, it seems likely the author has her own voice, sources, a passion for her subject, and information that maybe only has been touched on in the past along with a new perspective. I want to buy it now, thanks for the information.

Yes, I have and really enjoyed it. The miniseries version was horrid. I'm hoping that the film turns out better, but I'm skeptical it will be too watered down from Oates' book.

On another note, if you haven't picked up Fragments yet, I highly recommend it. It's a collected work of Marilyn's own writings. Based on this, I found it pretty amazing how accurately Oates embodied Marilyn's "voice" in Blonde.

Slap- Joy Behar, wrote CreepingDeath.

I so agree! I had to check twice and made sure you had her under 'Slap'.
I kind of thought I was the only one, she seems very popular. I find her often to be intolerant of any opinion other than her own, and extremely judgmental.
Not to say she isn't funny, sometimes, she is.
Frequently, though, she is too strident and rigid, for my taste.
