Subject: Jeremy Spencer single 45 -
Linda b/w Teenage Darling

Looding for info on this Jeremy Spencer single, particularly
the B side: "Teenage Darling"

Is this a studio track?,
or is it the live Fleetwood Mac version?

I have a copy of the LP from which Linda is on,
but only a live version of "Teenage Darling" on
The Blues Years by Fleetwood Mac.
Is it the same version of the song?

This track is a studio version unlike the version you have on 'The Blues Years'. Hope this clears up this point for you, but I suspect you will now want to seek out a copy this single from e-bay!

Can anyone tell me about the "Blues Years" CD. Is this something new or just a rehash of something I already have?

I know it's not the "Blues Years" double album because I have 2 of those.

Is this stuff anything different than what you find on "Show Biz Blues" or "The Vaudeville Years" or the "Boston Box" or "Shrine 69" or I've got one with really bad sound called "The Early Years". I hate to list them all, but you see what I'm getting at.

You are not referring to the Jeremy Spencer solo album are you? Because they both are on that one.

Blue Horizon is correct. The B side of the JS "Linda" single has an "unavailable elsewhere" version of TD, it's a studio cut presumably made at the same time as the rest of the tracks on the selftitled JS solo album on Reprise from 1970 but for whatever reason was left off of the JS solo album, and NOT the Boston Tea Party FM version.

There seems to have been MANY albums related to early FM stuff called "Blues years" but from the way the thread starter lists it, it sure sounds like the Tea Party version that is on the BY album in question (to me anyways).

So what you're saying here John is that there are two studio versions of Teenage Darling.

I am only familliar with the original double "Blues Years" album and this new CD with the same name. It appears to be a live performance. I was wondering if it is "New" or more of the same live stuff under a different name.

I wonder if anyone has it who might know. Or if there are liner notes describing what it actually is.

No, I'm saying there are only 2 (two) versions of "Teenage darling" that I know of:

1. is THE studio version on the B side of the JS "Linda" single

and

2. is the FM live version from the Boston Tea Party tapes.

So that means that the version on the solo album is the same as on the referenced 45, correct?

From what you said, I just thought you wanted to know whether it was a studio or live version and if it was available elsewhere or not. If I'm wrong, I'm sorry.

The copy of the "Jeremy Spencer" ALBUM I have does NOT have "Teenage darling" on it, it has "Teenage LOVE AFFAIR", perhaps this is the track you are thinking of?

All I know is that in order to play the STUDIO version of "Teenage darling" I need to take out the "Linda" single.

If there is ANOTHER STUDIO version of this song in existance, I am not aware of it.

Do let us know though if the studio version of "Teenage darling" is on the "Blues years" album which you are questioning as I haven't seen it but would be interested in hearing more about it so I could maybe find a copy of it on my own.

You're right John! I was going by memory. Well that clears up the fact that it was "Teenage Darlin" That was performed on the Kiln House tour.

I'm going to have to get my facts strait on this new CD before I ask any more questions. Now I'm questioning whether it was the "Blues Years" or "Vintage Years" both were albums. I'll have to check Border's where I saw it. I looked on Amazon but there is no photo.

From recollection, "Vintage Years" was a Sire Records repackage of Dog & Dustbin & Mr. Wonderful

It was on Sire and actually Vintage Years has stuff from English Rose, Mr Wonderful, Dog and Dustbin, Pious Bird, plus it has "Man of the World".

All this stuff with the same names, there ought to be a law!

I'll have to pull all this stuff out when making reference to them.

OK I just looked and the "Blues Years" is a 3 CD set with a bigger mixture of that stuff plus "I'd Rather Go Blind" by Chris, some "FM in Chicago, and The Original FM.

I'll have to re-check the actual name of this new CD.

There was a new CD put out by Snapper last year called "Vintage years LIVE" and THAT has Tea Party stuff on it, just to try and confuse fans all the more!
