Question Favorite foreign films?

I don't know if anyone here is a foreign film nerd like me but if you are, what are some of your favorite foreign films? Do you have any favorite actors/actresses?

The Return of Martin Guerre; Anne of the Thousand Days; King of Hearts; and Europa Europa come to mind first.

Yeah, the only one I can think of is Amelie...I know I've seen others, but I guess they didn't leave an impression...cause only Amelie comes to mind..but I LOVED that movie!!

I'm a sucker for Australian movies.

I love, love LOVE Strictly Ballroom, Muriel's Wedding and Priscilla.

I've loved Toni Collette since Muriel's Wedding.

And of course, my favorite British/Irish films...

Saving Grace, Little Voice, Full Monty, Blow Dry, Waking Ned Devine, etc.

I <3 Robert Carlyle and Brenda Blethyn out of those.

Ma Vie en Rose...that movie...good lord....so incredibly amazing but it breaks my heart. Yep, I went and saw Amélie on opening day...bought the DVD the day it came out...I LOVE that movie. I just saw a film the other day starring Audrey Tatou called He Loves Me, He Loves Me Not... that is one of the strangest films I've seen in a while...check it out.

My favorite films are Ridicule, Amélie, Indochine, Est Ouest, The Woman Next Door, 8 Femmes (how can you not love a film in which Catherine Deneuve slams Danielle Darrieux over the head with a bottle?)....okay, I have a lot more than that too...lol. The Closet is another hysterical film

Australian movies...am I the only one that's ever seen and loved Looking for Alibrandi?? The year it came out, it was on a sneak preview of Oxygen and I caught it on. I can't find the film over here anywhere but It's one of the best movies i've seen.

Ooh, Dancer In the Dark was great, too. I loved Deneuve in that one. Love her voice.

Anyhting with Charlotte Rampling. Swimming Pool was fantastic.

The Crying Game was a great flick, too. Still shocking.

Does Bend it Like Beckham count as a foreign film? I thought that was good!!!

Also...Monsoon Wedding...... (I think that's what it's called). That has a GREAT soundtrack!

Did Toni play Muriel? She was good in The Sixth Sense & reminds me of my cousin.

Toni was Muriel.

No, I hate Strictly Ballroom....then again I don't like Moulin Rouge either (not a fan of Baz Luhrman).

The Sixth Sense was an amazing film. My former English teachers son one of the kids in the film...he's the baker in the school musical and he's in the party scene screwing around in the background.
