Default Back to the velvet underground

Saw this on the Facebook page (1,000 fans to get LB in R&R HOF) and thought of that line from "Gypsy."

It's funny that the fashion styles for men are actually more conservative now than they were back then. Wear the wrong color or material and a guy's going to get stared at, but in the sixties and seventies they could wear all kinds of patterns, pastels, prints and textures and people didn't blink.

I saw the photo on a Facebook page called "1,000 Fans to get Lindsey Buckingham into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame." If you are not familiar with it, you should check it out. A lot of rare photos are posted there.

Yes, the photo I posted from that Facebook page has Lindsey wearing a velvet suit and I thought off the line from Stevie Nicks' song, "Gypsy" - "back to the velvet underground." I don't know what she was referring to when she wrote it, but when it came out, I had some friends who were hard core Lou Reed/Velvet Underground fans that were agitated with the lyrical reference. They did not like any correlation between Stevie Nicks/Fleetwood Mac and The Velvet Underground, unintentional as it may have been.

I was amused then as I am now, and the velvet suit brought back some fond memories. Sorry the original post wasn't clear.

$498. Good heavens.

I wonder how much Lindsey's leather jackets cost.

One of the funniest things that Cory wrote was that he broke the zipper on his boot, but didn't tell anyone in time for them to fix it, so at the next concert she had to tape his boot closed. I can't believe he didn't have a spare pair of boots to wear. This poor guy. I wish someone would pass a hat and take up a collection fro him.

I wonder if he has one special guitar that he likes more than the others. I mean, he always seems willing to toss one, if he's in the mood. I wonder if there's one he treats with tender loving care.
