Some of these photos are from 1987 or early 1988 rather than 1990, but we all sort of lump everything into the one Billy-&-Rick Era.

Are you guys being serious or keeping up the act? I meant of course Behind The Mask-era photos featuring Billy and Rick rather than just promos for the album from 1990. I'll remember to be more specific next time since it irks you so.

Personally I think of the 'Behind The Mask era' as everything including Billy & Rick, commencing in '87 and ending when Rick left, at which point it headed into the 'Time era.' I suppose that's generalizing a bit too much....

I think MacMan should be awarded tickets to the next Behind the Mask line-up tour....

Oh what I would do to be able to be a part of a big rock and roll tour, just once!!!!
That's exactly how the BTM shows were..powerful and big. I have about 6 of them on VHS and I really enjoy them. To be blunt, Stevie is a complete wasted mess. It wouldn't surprise me if she didn't remember any of that tour. I don't know how she even remembered the words to the songs. I'm mean, she just ain't there but the shows were still great!!

It bugs me somethin' AWFUL, Shar.

Did you like the pic I posted? They're rehearsing for their tour back in February or March 1990, somewhere in Culver City. That's my favorite "Landslide" of all of them from the Big-Mama Era.

Accuracy is the key. "Close enough" just doesn't cut it.

If somebody posted a photo of Lindsey in 1978 when he had cut his hair & shaved, playing a Gibson Les Paul and claimed it to be from the Tusk era, they'd be wrong, since they were still touring to back Rumours at the time.

The key to '87 vs '90 concert photos...if Billy's playng a Les Paul, it's 87, if he's playing a Strat, 90 and Billy's hair is much longer in 90.

If you read my first post I didn't ask for Behind The Mask promos or live photos, I didn't even mention a specific year. I specifically used the word "era".

The Rumours era of the band encompasses the 1975 album Fleetwood Mac and the albums that followed, so why can't the Behind The Mask era encompass the Tango tour when Billy and Rick first appeared? It's just a general term meant as guidance, not meant to be oh-so-specific. What else would you call it? It seems a pretty neat, concise term to me, era meaning "a period of time marked by distinctive character, events". Well I'd say the Behind The Mask era is marked by Billy and Rick joining the band to tour, eventually leading to the recording of their first original work together, Behind The Mask and its subsequent tour.

And just to annoy you more here's a couple more "Behind The Mask era" photos I found even though I know they are earlier.

These are "true" BTM-pics

Just because I like you, I'm going to post the August 1987 press conference where Lindsey Nicks's departure was announced as well as the arrival of Billy Vito & Rick Burnette. Stevie McVie was still in the band, but trying to figure out whether her particular brand of spacy synth pop-folk-shlock-rock was still in demand by the CD-buying public. Next, they hit the pavement & found a guy called Greg Ladanyi to help them build their tracks & produce their sound. He botched it big time, boy howdy.

David I love you when you're a goofball. Also when you're brilliant.

I LOVE all these new pictures! Thanks so much! This line-up was barely on my radar during this period, but now I've become somewhat (obsessively) fascinated with them. All these pictures are a treat. Thanks everyone.
