Question Last name

I've always been curious about this one.. Do we know why Christine kept McVie as her last name after the divorce? I always assumed it was because the Mac had gotten so huge by the time her and John split up, and that the band had already seen many line-up changes that she wanted to avoid causing confusion to listeners/fans.. any ideas?

She's always said that she hated the last name Perfect.

Yes, she didn't like Perfect. Otherwise, since she already had an album, a hit single and some credits as "Perfect" I think she might have retained that surname even after marriage.

Once she took Mcvie, back then (and maybe even still today) reverting back to your last name after a divorce was the exception, not the rule. Only a minority of people did that, so I'm not surprised she didn't.

also, she and john remained quite fond of each other in the years after their divorce, so it may just be in respect of the fact that she wasn't about to deny that their marriage happened.

see, I always thought it must've been painful for John, ecspecially watching the segment on Classic Albums where he speaks about how hard it was for him to accept it was over...I always thought it would be a slap in the face, in that sense, to see your ex, who you went through a very public break up with, keep your last name

in the end, its nobodys business but hers, ive just always wondered.

I don't think he realized until it was too late just how bad things got. Alcoholism can do that sometimes.

I know what you're saying, but it really wasn't the case with this relationship. Christine didn't divorce John because she no longer loved him. In fact, she continued to wear her wedding ring on her middle finger. And, she wrote Don't Stop for him. I think Chris really wanted things to work with John, but his demons got in the way.
