Just a thought...and more wondering.
With the recent passing of Syd Barrett I couldn't help but feel good about the fact that Greeny has not just sat dormant for decades. I'm happy for him - and it's lucky for us. The fact that he picked up his guitar and did what he's so good at, and what surely must bring him some joy is wonderful.
Now the "wondering" part. I wonder what it's like when Peter happens to hear an old recording of himself. Does it ever happen where hears a classic cut of him with Mac playing a blistering "Oh Well", or some other track where he's working his guitar magic? And how doed he take it? Does he wonder how he played like that, or does he feel like he remembers how to do it, but can't? Maybe it just seems to him like someone else is playing. I know that there art some folks here who are close to Peter, so I thought you might have a thought on this. But I also understand if it's too personal to share any thoughts on this. I was just curious. I hope that Peter occasionally hears an old track and allows himself to think , "damn I was good there". Last edited by Tom; 08-12-2006 at 09:50 AM.. |
