I can't stand Bill O'Reilly. Him and his "No Spin Zone" that he uses to spin EVERYTHING. That is a smug man. It doesn't help that he's on Fox News Channel either. I wonder if he put in any requests for Iraqi art.

I hate to say it. This performance did nothing to change the image they presented on the Today show. They seem like a tired, old, ex-supergroup, partially reformed one last time to see how much cash they can stuff into their 401k's before fading away to the Indian casino circuit.

Maybe these folks are just boring unless they have something to rant and rave about? The Dance tour was undertaken with some of the usual underlying emotional turmoil that's now resolved, more or less. The band also suffered the tension of not knowing if they could mesh well again. They pulled off a great reuinion after a short but potent rehersal period. I'm not sure lack of rehersal or practice is the problem now. They could be too comfortable and too familiar with one another after the long studio time it took to get this record out. It seems like they perform on auto pilot or something. Stevie just sleepwalks through her performances now, and LB strains a lot to get something going to no avail.

Sorry, but I have to call it like I see it. Once upon a time this band had something special. I'm still waiting for a hint of energy or enthusiasm. It would go a long way toward making up for their loss of skills with vocals, timing, Christine, etc. It's just not happening for me. I bought the album because I'll buy any music with Stevie's or Lindsey's name on it. However, I don't think the average fan will be motivated to buy SYW or go to a concert based on what the Mac is delivering on TV as promo.

Good one. Isn't it just precious that a Fox reporter gets caught red-handed with Iraqi art? It's just one more example of the kind of people who are running and providing content for that poor excuse of a network.

Bill O'Reilly is full of ****. If he and Fox were so unbiased, why is he trying so hard to get LA Times columnist Bob Scheer fired? Scheer has been one of the most vociferous critics of this administration and its warmongering ways. That's why.

The last thing we all need to worry about is Stevie's split ends which I'd have to say I actually didn't notice and I really don't give a **** if she did. I mean, they are my FAVORITE band and I grew up listening to 80s Mac and Stevie stuff and then through my parents heard the 70s Mac BUT, I dunno about all of you but I paid $125 for a ticket to their Philly show and way more than that for their AC show. I REALLY hope they don't suck this much on tour. I mean, regardless, i'm going to be happy because I heart them so much but I'd be a bit disappointed if they didn't sound all that great especially since this is the first time for me seeing them live.

My biggest beef is the dude who sings (or whatever the hell you want to call that) backup...it almost seems like he and Lindsey are competing to be heard at times. I want to hear Fleetwood Mac not horrid backup dude...and as much as I like Mindy and Sharon, I don't want to hear them either and that's pretty much all I could hear at certain points during the song. It's like, you're called BACKUP for a reason. Krikey.

But seriously, did anyone else notice that there's an entire other band behind them? WTF?!? My friend Meredith and I had a conversation about this last night when Leno was over. The old Fleetwood Mac NEVER had backup before The Dance tour. Why now is it necessary?

And Peacekeeper..don't even get me started there....IMO it is a HORRIBLE song perform live. It definately should not have been their first single. I really didn't have too many issues with the Today show performance because I thought it was unfair to judge them based on other factors surrounding them. However, last night there didn't seem to be any other factors that we could add in to the ass sucking other than the fact that well, Peacekeeper just.....uh...sucks ass. LOL

I know they're rehearsing more at the soundstage this weekend and hopefully, all of the glitches will be worked out. After all, these performances are practices for the real thing so I guess I shouldn't be so judgmental.

I think Stevie looks absolutely radiant….she looks more beautiful every year and sounds great and Lindsey…well he looks hot as hell and his guitar playing rocks and I’m loving him on the album. If I wasn’t 19 and if he wasn’t married, I’d be all about getting’ me some of that…oh, who the hell am I kidding? I’d be all about getting’ me some of that regardless. Lindsey needs to make like a Mac machine…we’ll tap that….LOL

FLEETWOOD MAC~~~SAY YOU WILL give a better performance tonight on Leno???

It's hilarious! Did you hear about what the Fox News ticker tape scrolled a few weeks ago for the anti-war activists to read? How sickening. Fox News is a joke and it gives the news a bad name. Fair and balanced my ass. They employ Geraldo Rivera, Sean Hannity, and Bill O'Reilly! What else can be said??? Bastards.

I think that is so interesting that you all find Bill O'Reilly so conservative. While I do not see him voting for ole Hillary anytime soon, I think he is rather moderate in his views (against the death penalty, for gay adoption, against Big Brother type government, spoke out against Senators Lott and Sanatorum (Sp.?), etc.). I do hate his smugness, however; I hate that in anyone. Note: I am in no way saying I agree with everythink Bill O'Reilly says. I rarely agree with anyone on everything

Yes, FM is really two bands - the four and the five behind them. All of that and they cannot give an A+ performance. It saddens me, because I really do love FM and want them to be the superlative in their genre.

By the way, did anyone else notice Micks real gold drums and how he immediately leapt over them to be sure and get his mug in the spotlight.

Using a backup band is not a good image to present either! WTF? If it's necessary to use so many backups to play a particular song on TV, then don't do that song! We all know LB overdubs numerous guitar parts using different guitars on certain songs, but if that's the stuff they promote on TV, they might as well use playback and lip sync for cryin out loud. There are other songs they could do to show off their best asset: SONGWRITING!

Please, Say You Will be better tonight on Tonight!

I just hope that the band, their managers, and all the other powers-that-be will:

a. Raise hell about the crappy mixing. The reason we were hearing Ray's or Carlos' guitar over LB's, and Mindy and Sharon drowning out Stevie, was the MIX, not because anyone was singing or playing louder than the stars of the band.

b. For the love I have for your wardrobe, Stevie, PLEASE come up w/ something new/interesting to wear, and remind your makeup girl that you need "camera ready" makeup, not just enough makeup to go to lunch and be seen in public. Don't be afraid of the red lipstick!

c. I hate to admit this, but if the DC show is as lackluster as these recent TV appearances, I may have to reconsider the number of shows I'm considering attending. I know, those of us who are fortunate enough to see them ONCE shouldn't complain, but I've been saving my pennies and hording my vacation time specifically for this tour.

Come on FM, "don't you let me down...agaaaaaain!"

In addition to what I mentioned earlier - wanting Stevie and Lindsey to have an affair to spice up performances, I also wish they would wise up and realize that they can get feedback from their most loyal of fans instantaneously right here on the internet. The rest of the people from whom they receive feedback are either family members or friends, who probably would withhold their true feelings, and executives who only care about their money. Why can't they realize what a resource they have at their fingertips. I really believe that we give constructive criticisms (most of the time...hehe)and that they could use us to their advantage! I mean, honestly, Stevie would probably crap her ugly dress if she read some of the horrifying comments on this board, but they're mostly things that she and Lindsey could work on. They really need to wake up.

Also, I'm kind of glad that I'm only going to two shows. I guess the best thing we can hope for is a touch-up DVD like the dance if we want to see a great performance, and that's just not the way it should be.

Yeah, what she said

As for the back up band. If you realize that they used to have Christine playing keyboard, and Lenny on percussion, there is only one addition person visible onstage, Carlos. I think for their TV Dance performances they hid Brett and Neale but Lenny was always clearly visible.

Hopefully someone connected to the band will read this message board instead of the whitewashed excuse for a message board on Mick's site. Heaven forbid anyone there were to say they sounded terrible, the pack of wolves would be allover the thread setting everyone straight before you could blink. I think I heard that someone from FM read the Ledge after the first few Dance concerts for feedback. Let's hope someone is reading "some" of the comments here about the performances and would be honest with them about the way they sound.

Last I checked, there were 22 people who aren't registered here reading the boards.....hopefully it's someone connected with the band or perhaps someone in the band??

Please be reading this FM managerial-type people!

We love this band more than anything, but they can do so much better!

I want to hear Lindsey playing guitar, not anybody else. Strip it down so we can hear him!

We want to see Stevie looking like the Diva that she is and full of 'tude!

And heaven's to Betsy, please play a song with some energy!
Destiny Rules, What's the World Coming To, Thrown Down, would all translate lovely to a live performance.

We need an image booster, fast!

We know you can do it! We believe in you when no one else does, you know.
