I think the problem with the recording bit would be the touring bit.

I doubt if they would let her take part in the recording if she didn't agree to tour.

BUT I've said before I think Lindsey could come and spend a few weeks in the beautiful Kent countryside and Christine could put some vocal and keyboards on 2 or 3 tracks. They could then choose a Christine song to record and he could take the results back to LA to work on. Simple! All it takes is a coalition of the willing.

They had no problem doing so when it came to "Time."

No, but Lindsey and Stevie apparently have very different views on the matter than the Time crew. I recall some interview in which Stevie is asked about the issue of Christine recording without touring, and she insists, "but you've got to back it up, if you want to record, you've got to get out there and tour to promote it." Or some such garbage to that effect. Utterly ridiculous coming from a woman who performed all of two new songs on that nearly two year tour. (Of course, the total does jump to a whopping four out of nine if you count the songs she sang once or twice and then decided just weren't working.)

There's a visual. Lindsey litterally cracking a whip on Christine. SHE would KICK HIS ASS if he tried something like that!!!

Because there WASN'T a tour to promote Time...they toured for a year & a half PRIOR to the album's release.
