V/A "Gaia" album
Saw this on the France site for Amazon on this V/A "Gaia" album we've been hearing about:
http://www.amazon.fr/exec/obidos/ASI...383437-4744116 So I guess it's a Jeremy & Mick recording, not really an "original FM lineup" recording as was previously reported. I'm having trouble downloading the clip of the song though, what does it sound like? John |

Seems to be instrumental. The portion they used for the clip sounds VERY much like "Slabo Day" from Peter Green's In The Skies album, with Jeremy Spencer playing the melody on slide instead of Peter Green/Snowy White playing the melody. It is very recognizably Mick on drums. Wonder who's playing bass?

UPDATE
More reasons to get this CD (which I just got, hence the reason for resurecting this thread) is that in addition to the MF/JS track, Mick also plays on Billy Preston's "Where is the way" AND also according to the liner notes, Jeremy plays on the Zucchero/Anggun track called "World" which makes history in that, as far as I know of JS's legally released recordings, this track is his first true guest appearance (as all of his other recordings are either his solo works or with FM). Interesting huh?
A very good CD overall though, very world sounding/atmospheric. You're right ChiliD the Mick/Jeremy track DOES have that "Slabo day" groove goin' on. This is still to be released stateside apparently but it is definitely available via amazon.co.uk (as that's where I got mine from, I couldn't wait for the US release!). John |
