Default more Fleetwood Mac in "Rock Band"

Just announced that "Don't Stop" and "World Turning" will be available next Tuesday for download for "Rock Band".

Personally I think "Don't Stop" is a poor choice because it doesn't really seem the type of song that'd be a blast to play (repetitive drums, etc.) but it's a good party-song choice that everyone will know.

"World Turning"? Brilliant. They went with one that not everyone would know and the guitar part is going to be fun and challenging for those who play on expert. Could turn a lot of new people onto the band!

I'm still rooting for "The Chain", which seems to me would be the best song in the Mac catalog for the game, but this is good nonetheless!

I do applaud this choice, precisely because it's not an obvious one, like you said.

Cool - world turning is a great choice! It would be cool if you could get Mick's drum solo in there, huh?

From Gamervision:http://www.gamervision.com/gamer/sar..._dlc_tom_petty

Next week, Rock Band gets another healthy dose of classic rock, with Tom Petty making his debut in the game. I'm actually glad that "Runnin' Down a Dream" will now remind me of another video game, because everytime I hear that song I'm reminded of driving around the streets of San Andreas. Joining Petty are Fleetwood Mac and Billy Idol, and for the kids, Jet. Interestingly, Rock Band Unplugged gets a double dose of the undead with The Zombies and White Zombie.

Tracks available on Xbox 360 (Aug. 25) and PLAYSTATION 3 system (Aug. 27):

· Billy Idol – “Mony Mony”
· Billy Idol – “Rebel Yell”
· Fleetwood Mac – “Don’t Stop”
· Fleetwood Mac – “World Turning”
· Jet – “She’s a Genius”
· Tom Petty – “I Won’t Back Down”
· Tom Petty – “Runnin’ Down a Dream”

Additional tracks available for Wii (Aug. 25):

· Blind Melon - “No Rain”
· Blur - “There’s No Other Way”
· Dropkick Murphys - “I’m Shipping Up to Boston”
· Eve 6 - “Inside Out”
· Foo Fighters - “All My Life”
· Foo Fighters - “I’ll Stick Around”
· Foo Fighters - “Lonely as You”
· Kaiser Chiefs - “I Predict a Riot”
· Belly – “Feed the Tree”
· Ghost Hounds – “Wind Me Up”
· Godsmack – “I Stand Alone”
· Grateful Dead – “Cold Rain & Snow”
· Grateful Dead – “Doin’ That Rag”
· Grateful Dead – “Don’t Ease Me In”
· Grateful Dead &nd ash; “Fire on the Mountain”
· Grateful Dead – “Hell in a Bucket”
· Grateful Dead – “Uncle John’s Band”
· James Gang – “Funk #49”
· Mute Math – “Typical”
· Rob Zombie – “War Zero”
· Turbonegro – “Wasted Again”
· White Zombie – “Black Sunshine”
· White Zombie – “More Human Than Human”

Tracks available for Rock Band Unplugged (Aug. 27):

· The Zombies – “She’s Not There”
· White Zombie – “Black Sunshine”

Not yet, Wii is always a little behind. I'll post when they are.

"Don't Stop" is fun on vocals of course. Bass is bouncy and fun throughout the entire song. Guitar is alright - I forgot how little Lindsey actually plays in that song, just accents the piano parts. Drums, however, are boring and majorly repetitive, unfortunately. I'm not really happy they picked this song, "Chain" would have been SUCH a better choice. Although "Don't Stop" is great for parties I'm sure.

"World Turning" - INSANE on guitar. Very difficult yet fun - that riff is killer. Drums, again, are fairly repetitive and simple but you feel like you're really complimenting the song by playing. Bass part is a beast - you don't have anything to do for the first half of the song then it kicks up - there's a lot more going on there than I ever realized. And vocals are great too - emphasis on Christine's higher part during the 'world turning' harmonies.

The game's forums are riddled with requests for "The Chain" and "Dreams", so hopefully they'll work on getting those out sometime!

Anyone know how much money they make by having their songs in the game?

Ohhh I hope it comes out for the Wii soon. I love "World Turning" ... not too much for the "Don't Stop" ... like mentioned earlier "The Chain" would have been an awesome choice!! But I'll take what I can get.

They say gamers often buy these songs after hearing them. So, it's opening them up to a new generation. Way to go!

Exactly! That's why I think it's a great idea for Miley to record the Bella Donna album.

A BIG error I found that I forgot to mention...

You know how they show those little "fun fact" sort of things while the songs are loading, right? Well, the one that popped up when I played World Turning today was:

Stevie Nicks' last performance with Fleetwood Mac was at the Bill Clinton inauguration

and I kinda went, "WHAAAAAAAT???"... kinda makes you wonder about the validity of some of the other facts that they have listed...
