Exclamation FMac 2-CD Best Of in October??

Just heard on a Boston radio station that FMac has a 2 cd best of compilation coming out in October?!! I would think that would mean at least a month or 2 would pass after that release before they release the new cd. Or maybe they're releasing the Best Of to spark interest in FMac before unleashing new material?

Anyone hear any similair news?

(I've haven't been keeping up lately with the boards, so excuse me if this is old news...)

Thats exactly what I feel they are going to use the "Best Of" for, To possibly attract new fans and spark interest for the upcoming new studio release...And tour next year, Brian

Is this supposed to be a new batch of Greatest hits that weren't on the first one? "Greatest Hits, Volume 2" Songs such as Monday Morning, Think About Me, Sisters of the moon and other key album tracks, concert favorites and minor hits? I can't see why they'd put out ANOTHER album of the same hits that appeared on the 1988 GH album, Box Set, and The Dance. It would just be repackaging and selling the same stuff.

Thumbs down Two cd Best Of!

Mick must be desperste! We own these songs on cd,tape, video,
lp's and mp3's and on and on! I adore their music but...gosh......
Been There Done That!!!We want new vibes...new songs...new
F Mac Music!!! BUT...Mick's message about the new album sounds rather encouraging!!!Lindsey and Stevie...equally right across the board! It is very different...hard hitting Rock and Roll! The lads let all hell { I cleaned up the language here!}break loose on their instruments...Iam doing tight...compact...jazzy drum stuff...its a well crafted sound...really cool...the egos are gone!
The Band has Come Full Circle...which sounds very much like
a good title for the New F Mac Album due out Spring 2003!!!
This is a loose interpretation! You can read more at The Nicks Fix! Luv,Sky

Mick is still trying to rebound from that bankruptcy he had back in the mid 80's. This new greatest hits will just be another revenue stream for the band. At the most, it may introduce new people to the band, but it does nothing for long time listeners.

OUR prize comes with the new album.

Hey, ANYTHING NEW FM is great, this will put them on the map again, and it will just help for the new album.

I honestly get sick thinking about it, sick with excitement. The Dance was 5 years ago now and Im aching for something NEW

I hear ya, Janet.
This isn't anything new though. Its old songs in new packaging. The band is playing it right, though, by putting it out. Timing. This album should spark some renewed interest in the band. 5 years is way too long between albums. Not only that, the Dance was a "Greatest Hits Live" package (with a few obligatory new tunes thrown in). The real challenge will be how an album of all new material will do.

It was LB himself that plugged his solo album ("still working on...") before Bleed To Love Her on the Dance CD.

5 years later, we wait...

When I first read that I chuckled. But it's really nice to read that this feeling is still out there for the band. I agree, our prize is the new album. I'm intrigued by Mick's latest descriptions. Now that we know the tracklist to the greatest hits album, my biggest hope in relation to this release is just that we might get some more new interviews.

Well, I guess this is a good thing. It's not exactly the "new release" that we've all been waiting for, but at least it's something.

I'm just a little concerned about the song order for each disc. I don't know if the list is exactly the way in which the songs will appear on the CDs. If it is the actual list, then I'm afraid it doesn't flow very well. I'm not saying that it has to be chronological, but shouldn't there be some logical order or underlying theme? The sequence at the moment looks as if the songs were picked out of a hat & thrown together.

Les - That quote by Joseph Campbell is very inspirational. Is this a new signature? You've probably had it for a while and I didn't even notice it.

There wasn't on either the 1988 GH or "The Chain" box, either. You expect THIS to?

Hi Karen!

Ha, no I just changed it recently. I ran across it recently and just thought it would be a nice change from the other for a while and still retain a certain Lindsey-ish-ness.

The CDs do have a slightly odd running order. I suppose someone at the company probably had a reason for how they're put together, but it's hard to discern it on first look.

Yeah, I suppose I'm expecting a lot from a group that doesn't care about the minor details (like fan appreciation). I'm normally not this negative, but all this waiting for new material has tarnished my enthusiastic view of all things Mac. I know this will all change once the new album is released.

I hope you're right. It will probably make more sense once it's all formatted on the CD insert.

Anyway, I like your signature and I hope you keep it for a while longer. It's a very good fit.

Unhappy A Question???????

Hi to All !!!
The order of the songs seems hit or miss and it does
sort of disappoint as it is the Same Old...same old!!!!

Like F Mac is too busy now to do the new material and
tour as promised ... so, this oughta keep the F Mac fans
happy until the new stuff rolls around!!! If at ALL!

Post Script: Can anyone tell me please...How does one
change their personal quote? Mine needs updated!!!Sky
