Default Mick Fleetwood Blues Band to play 3 shows in Australia next March

Sunday, 15 November, 2009

Recorded in four days, with the musicians playing together in the same room, Speak Low is filled with a rare kind of energy that erupts when everyone involved becomes alive to the possibilities of what can happen. Celebrating the 40th anniversary of the release of the first record Fleetwood Mac drummer and founding member Mick Fletwood brings together a show of unparalleled energy and a true vibe of the '60s.

Hot on the heels of two sold-out NZ Fleetwood Mac shows, Mick Fleetwood and his band will accompany these legends to perform Mick Fleetwood Blues Band original material along with Fleetwood Mac songs.

Fleetwood brings together a show of unparalleled energy and a true vibe of the '60s.

Featuring former Fleetwood Mac guitarist and veteran bluesman Rick Vito, bassist Lenny Castellanos, Mark Johnstone on keyboards and with the iconic Mick Fleetwood providing his unmistakable powerhouse percussion style, the Mick Fleetwood Blues Band plays the exact type of music Fleetwood Mac played between the years of 1967 and 1970 - the finest in Blues and Classic Rock & Roll!

On the project Mick said, "I've been very excited about the prospect of doing something like this for a 40th Anniversary Tour and I'm so pleased at how it has come together.

I can't wait to see the reactions from the fans - the music is there, the energy is there, all of the pieces fit." With three exceptional artists sharing the stage, audiences will be thrilled to hear all of their favourite songs reborn into something intoxicatingly original.

It's actually 4 dates in Australia, and 3 in New Zealand. The Australian shows are opening for Michael McDonald and Boz Scaggs, and it looks like the New Zealand dates are on their own.

Australia:

Sutton Grange Winery, Victoria 2/20/10
Balgownie Estate Vineyard Resort & Spa, Yarra Valley 2/21/10
WIN Entertainment Centre, Wollongong 2/26/10
Riverstage, Brisbane 2/27/10

New Zealand:

Westpac Arena, Christchurch 3/3/10
Vector Arena, Auckland 3/5/10
Pettigrew Green Arena, Napier 3/6/10

Thank you for the correction. Looks like Mick has made enough money on Unleashed already, so he's planned an expensive touring travel plan for next year. My little Demon(Brandon) now you have no excuse why you can't go to one of these shows!!!

You should. Sadly I'm on the wrong side of Australia...

Oh well you should probably buy Blue Again first to see if you actually like their music...

Way too expensive. Weren't the tickets around $30.00 in the USA? Remember, Mick doesn't sing, he just plays the drums.

Well, you also get Boz Scaggs and Michael McDonald.

I thought I read somewhere the MFBB had added a solo show the day before, but now I can't find it. I'm sure it wouldn't be as expensive.

EDIT: Here it is -- MFBB, the HiFi in Melbourne, Friday night the 19th @ 8:00 pm. $49.

I'm having quite a bit of trouble finding tickets for the Yarra Valley concert. Does anyone know what's happening with that one?

Sutton Grange it is then! Although I would've preferred Yarra Valley, because it's closer to home, SG is a great venue! Jackson Browne had a concert there last year, and everything about it was wonderful!
Thanks for the info!
