Default Turn it On appreciation thread

I just discovered the "other" songs on Out of the Cradle. I had never listened to the whole CD, just the songs Ive heard on bootlegs and such. So I decided to pop it in today (for the first time ever). I LOVE THIS ALBUM! Really I listened to every track, there really isn't one stinker on here IMO.

But.....the song that I have on repeat is Turn it On. I LOVE the chorus to this song so much!

I think my favorite line is : "You could trust in yourself if you give it a try."

Great song....

I like this song so much I can totally ignore how much Lindsey sounds like Brian Johnson at the end!

I love this song. It's one of my favs on OOTC.

I adore the way he says "try" and "sky".

great threadtopic. This is a forgotten song. I love it. Except the fact that it doesn't have real drums on it. If Mick had bashed that thing full it could easily rank in my top 5 lindseysongs. The verses AND the chorus are divine. It has somuch melody and spunk it flows over of enthusiasm. Bring it on live!

This was a song I didn't discovered until years after Out Of The Cradle was released and when I DID discover it, I fell in love with it.

I love this:
You can fight, you can pray, you can reach for the sky
You can heal someone's soul, you don't even know why
Turn it on

I'm on board with the TIO love!! Great song and this would be a great addition to the set list on the second leg of the tour (*hint hint*).

Amazing song. I think it's so deep and profound, and I love it to death.

You Do Or You Don't as well...and Don't Look Down. I could listen to those three on rotation for weeks and never get sick of them.

Squeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!! Love for my favorite song!!!!!

I actually have "The hurt that you feel makes you strong..." tattooed on my lower back, thanks to this song of course. I can't explain how much I adore it and how much strength it seems to give me to listen to it, but it is just a *fantastic* song. I was actually hoping and praying somehow it'd land in the setlist on the past tour, LOL, but uh, no. The lyrics are just...so beyond inspiring. This song and Soul Drifter...between the two, they pushed me towards the most important decision I've ever had to make in my life, and I've never regretted it.

Actually, on the first night in Chicago, I had a sign that said '"You are the man!"' LOL, with the quotes and all...I don't think Lindsey saw it, but Brett did! I have always gotten this image in my mind, though, during that line...of Lindsey giving himself a pep talk in the bathroom mirror...telling himself "you are the man!" Which is really distracting when listening to your favorite song and trying to draw inspiration from it, but meh.

It doesn't get near enough love, so yay for this thread!!

I think it's so cool when you have a musical epiphany *OMG!*... then a friend or someone else has the same one---it makes you want to go back and experience that first moment when a part of the sky opened up for you!

Sometimes the genius takes awhile to hit you, though when I heard OOTC, it took a place immediately in my top 10, and has remained there ever since. There are so many gems..."...Don't look down...OWWW!" I love the way he does that part live! I so wish I had TIO on a live recording, what a great song! And LngPrmsdRd...that is really neat you have that tattoo, what a fan! I was thinking maybe I'd put labels on all my light switches that say "Turn It On"(!) Sadly, that's about as wild & crazy as I get! Anyways, rock on with the OOTC love!
