Thumbs up "Without You"

Sorry if this has been debated before....Don't you all think this would be perfect for them to resurrect now? I just got a cd of great quality B/N demos (aka Almanac stuff) and i think the lyrics are so appropriate for a "new" song.

I'd prefer they do NEW material rather than ressurect 30 year old demos...Stevie already did enough of that with her "TISL" album.

When Stevie mentioned that she was pulling an old song out of the vaults for the new Fleetwood Mac album, the first one I thought of was "Without You."
It has a great vibe to it... it would allow Stevie and Lindsey to show off their incredible harmonies... and I think the band could do something really special with it.

Based on the recent copyright renewals though, I really think it's going to be (a possibly re-worked) "Smile At You."

While I do see your point, we also have to keep in mind that we were never supposed to hear any of those old demos (just like you recently pointed out about the 'Gift Of Screws' tracks).

By all rights, "Candlebright" and "Planets Of The Universe" should have been brand new to us ("Sorcerer" is a different story, since it was recorded and officially released in the 80s, by Marilyn Martin).
So if Stevie, or Fleetwood Mac, wants to use a song that was written back in the 70s, I have no problem with it.

We'll certainly get a good amount of brand new tunes to go with them anyway, so it's all good.

I love "Without You" and agree with Johnny Stew that they could do something really special with it. I hope to see it there. However will not be suprised if it isn't. I like "Smile at You" too. I guess we will see!

I'd really enjoy seeing "Without You" performed live...especially if was totally "re-done"....
