Wow I can't believe I actually witnessed this in person! Going back and looking at the video makes me want to go another show and sit front row. Awesome performance.

I know! I think my mouth was hanging open the entire time. I was thinking, "I can't believe I am seeing this performance in person!"

Wildhearted: What a concert experience you had!! Incredible you could get Lindsey's autograph, plus an amazing picture of him signing your Tusk album during the show no less (!!). You will never forget that moment.

I think in another thread someone mentioned that he/she thought that Stevie and her vocal coach have stipulated how she should perform her songs, figuring where to go for certain notes and where not to (Gypsy, I think was the song we were talking about, how she's long been changing "And it lights up the night"). That being said, Gold Dust Woman was really something else in Atlanta. I'm so glad Stevie went for some notes, showing us no concert experience is ever the same. Maybe in some of the other shows remaining she'll change what she's doing on Gypsy, she'll go for it? Maybe they will finally make Sisters of the Moon work better (probably less likely at this point as it's not evolving)? All I know is I get upset when people write off Stevie as only a shade of her former voice, that she sounds so monotone (like a goat eeek)....a performance like Gold Dust Woman, arguably her greatest song, proves she still has it and the voice endures.

I watched the Sisters video from Detroit out of curiosity. I haven't really seen it since the very beginning of the tour and wanted to see if it had changed/evolved. Nope. I actually think the earlier performances were better. I think it ends too soon. There needs to be more wild guitar playing at the end but it just kinda stops. It's an epic song and it would serve the live version well to extend it...Stevie can stop singing but Lindsey needs to keep playing!!

The gypsy change-up barely even registers with me because I'm so used to hearing it sung that way in the piano demo

Right? The people to my left were all gasping and whispering "oh my god."

It registers with the crowd, though. At my concert in NYC, as well as quite a few videos, people are singing that part of the song...and then all of a sudden, where's Stevie?? I know what you mean, I've heard the piano demo. The Sisters of the Moon demo could've actually been the final version of the song, it's that good.

Me too. Someone must have taken creative writing.

You wouldn't say that to Bob Dylan.

You didn't need to change seats. You don't get it. They were quoting lines from the song Sara;when you build your house, call me home.

Actually, given the circumstance, I really think I would.
