Default Analyzing album covers: Live in Boston

It's a good collage, not big deal to me. I do like the blue color. But I don't know why they included a sunset, cause it makes me recall the sun over Pacific Ocean.. California. But hello.. you said is Live in BOSTON .

A good cover anyway. Fine.

Who looks best? Lindsey and John, IMHO.
Of course, and it's more than obvious, but I want to mention anyway.. I miss Christine there.

every time i look at this cover i'm thinking - huh, what is this? they threw in bunch of disparate photos together and decided to call it a cover.

I would like this cover so much better if they were all the same proportion - but it always looks like a giant Stevie looming over the guys. Weird!

The photoshopping is laughable.

It's also not spaced very well - everything is crowded to the right, and there's that random empty left corner.

And what? They just threw in a setting sun for kicks?

They used this picture to promote the tour. I remember taking this full page FM ad out of my newspaper (back when I still got a paper newspaper) and saving it, but I wasn't happy about the photo.

I like it, it seems fitting and realistic (albeit the giant Stevie) just glimpses of the band in action...makes sense.

Yeah, I can see why the dispreportioning of members would irratate some, and the rising/setting sun. Never really noticed/thought about sun until now.

I don't have a problem with the concept, I just think it was terribly executed.

Ha haaa.. you know I DID see that coming. After posting I thought..oh oh.. why I'm sure is sunset and not sunrise??

Well in my defense.... the CD is Live in Boston, not recordings from different cities (like 1980 Live). So yes.. it could be watching the sunrise over Atlantic ocean. But HEY! concerts are at evening.. not at dawn!!!

Yes.. I'm just rambling

I suppose it's OK for a live album, but not creative in any way. Did an intern prepare this cover art? I'd bet the band wasn't even involved. They were probably given proofs and just waved a hand in approval.

For what it's worth, I don't own this album. Never heard it. Not interested. There could have been a studio album immediately after this tour instead of another live album. Just how many live albums does a band lineup with only 6 studio albums over a 38 year period need?

Lamest most thoughtless cover ever. Goes hand in hand with the tourbook. Lets just cash in as opposed to giving it any real thought. It's not even arty. I would say I think that's what they were going for...but no.no one was thinking here. I'll stop harping on it now. I always forget about it, til I pull the cd out or there's a thread about it. lol

well, we are referring to the CD right?

I always think of LIB as a DVD, which is good and well worth the purchase. and yes, I hardly ever (mb twice) listened to the CD with it.

Hell, I have seen bootlegs that are better packaged than an official release..."Live in Boston" looks like a Jr.High art student pieced it together.

It isn't a setting sun, it's a light that was half lit above the speaker behind John. It's clear if you watch shots of John on the DVD.
