Dave mason Tour 2011
So excited! Dave Mason is going to be right smack dab in my backyard, litterally Chico is so small haha. I kept driving by the theater and it said "Dave Mason", and I kept thinking Fleetwood Mac but i didn't know why, and I knew it! Post-Rumours. Has anyone else seen him? What should i listen to to prepare for an awesome concert experience?

Alone Together. Or, if you don't mind finding out ahead of time what he sounds like live, check out Live At Sunrise.

I've never seen him either, but I got this on itunes a while back, and I really like it. He sounds great!:
http://itunes.apple.com/us/album/liv...io/id118687250 It's a XM radio concert from 2004. Obviously a small venue, maybe like what you'll have in Chico

It's still really weird that he was a member of Fleetwood Mac for a brief moment. I actually saw them in concert during that time.
What really struck me was his connection to the Mamas & Papas, another male/female group (which I love) that pioneered inter-personal drama and disfunction a decade before Fleetwood Mac. Dave recorded an album and toured with "Mama" Cass Elliot in 1971. They were good friends. He obviously just joined Fleetwood Mac on a whim, perhaps because he had nothing going on at that moment.

No, because when he was living in Mick Fleetwood's guest house, he badgered Mick to join the band until Mick finally relented. I think it's pretty hypocritical of Mason to now have negative remarks about his time in the band, since he lobbied so hard to join. I guess you just have to file that under "be careful what you wish for".

It'll take me a while to find them, but there were a couple of interviews about 5 years ago or so, when he was putting his name on that guitar he helped design (can't even think of the company this morning...gotta get caffeinated), where he'd made some comment about his time in Fleetwood Mac and they weren't the most complimentary.
