Was it due in part to the anguish of seeing Lindsey's gorgeous locks cropped away?

Just for the f*** of it...let's make it one vote closer: Rumours.

To my ears, they were never tighter as at the end of the summer of 1977. So, Rumours tour for the win.

Although...that WAS the tour they started 86ing the pre-1975 material, until "Oh Well" was all that was left. They started out really well, even ADDING a Danny Kirwan tune or two ("Sunny Side Of Heaven" & "Tell Me All The Things You Do") and Christine pulled out an oldie, too ("Believe Me"). Then sometime during the early summer, Lindsey started into his brat routine and didn't want to play songs he didn't have a hand in creating.

Do you know how many shows they played those at (or an estimation)? It's too bad they didn't continue with Believe Me - it sounded great in the rehearsals - but I also wonder if Stevie was concerned about the harmony being too high for her to consistently pull off. She was already concerned about saving her voice and all that. So maybe it wasn't all Lindsey, although we all know he was happy to get rid of older songs he didn't write.

I've noticed on the rehearsal mp3's I've got of BM, that she's REALLY straining to hit the harmonies. Maybe that is why they dropped it.
