For the "younguns"... Helen Reddy played Nora in 'Pete's Dragon' (Lampie's daughter, who was pining away for her long lost love, Paul).
She also had a huge hit with "I Am Woman (Hear Me Roar)."
I'm sorry! I didn't mean to make you feel old. Just consider it my ignorance, because I'm 24, so I'm not that much younger than you and maybe I should know who she is. I have heard the song "I am Woman" but I really have no idea what you're talking about with Pete's Dragon. (It's a movie?)

I think this was the air-date....we have no clue when it was recorded. If that was the recording date and not the airing date, then Ms. Day-booed is completely off in her introduction. Well, I guess a "few" weeks ago could be as many weeks as she wanted, as long as it was more than one week ago!

Yep, it's a really cute children's movie from 1977, starring Mickey Rooney (Lampie), Helen Reddy, Shelley Winters, Jeff Conaway (from 'Taxi' and 'Grease'), Sean Marshall (Pete), and an animated green dragon, named Elliot.

It's fun and light-hearted, and worth seeing at least once, in my opinion.

Very true. I am sure that is the case.

Pete's Dragon used to be one of my favorite movies- I watched it all the time! Cool to know that a star in that movie introduced Fleetwood Mac.....

At least those are the four I've seen over the years.

By the way, that's an excellent performance of "Why."
Would love to have a pristine, stereo version of that sucker on CD.

They also did the Midnight Special program back in 1973 before Bob Weston was fired and the tour cancelled.

On that show they played "Believe Me" & "Miles Away".

Wow - I just downloaded the performance of "World Turning" from the Midnight Special show. What an awesome performance of that song! I love Stevie's vocal at the end. And her spins! My God - she was going faster than I had ever seen her spin - I would fall down for sure after all that spinning. It must be her dancer's training that helps Stevie with her balance.
